September 10, 200818 yr That's about 100 times that statment has been used, can you guys at least refrase it or something? Try something new like "Grasping at straws." It might be overused but it has the benefit of being true. If the Pallin-haters want to stop hearing it, they should stop trying to create a controversy where none exists.
September 10, 200818 yr Weak. Yeah, maybe so, but it's to the point and I don't have to waste my breath...or should I say get carpal tunnel, trying to type out some long post that's not going to sway anyone anyways. The P&R forum users are a stubborn bunch, and that's not necessarily a bad thing because I am stubborn as well. But it's painfully obvious that everyone here is set in his/her own ways and beliefs and no one is changing anyone else's mind.
September 10, 200818 yr I attend a Faith Assembly of God and it is moderatley Pentecostal, nothing mainstream but there are some that speak in tongues in the pews, not often but occassionaly it happens. No one is blown away by it. My uncle used to be the preacher and he has two of the gifts, translation and healing touch. You believe what you believe but if there are people going to knock her for believing this then, they should attend a church that preaches not to judge other religions.
September 10, 200818 yr I believe that saying has been used way too much, and it is time for a new one. Please? You sound desperate, you need to stop grasping at straws.

I just got a kick out the CNN reporters hesitantly describing what the Pentecostal church does. They weren't really sure what they had.
September 10, 200818 yr I think Palin's beauty (good looks) is blinding you Republicans. She has went from a low-profile Governor (with little experience and alot of question marks in her past) to the best thing since sliced bread. Take off your rosey colored glasses and look at it realistically. I will give McCain credit for choosing her and I think we all know it was a sexist decision. He outsmarted Obama, if he had picked Hillary then McCain couldn't have played the "sex" card.

He also has little experience and a lot of question marks in his past yet he's the second coming.
September 10, 200818 yr So, explain the democrats rosey look at Obama. He also has little experience and a lot of question marks in his past yet he's the second coming. I don't see Obama through rosey colored glasses and he's definately not the second coming. I acknowledge his lack of experience and the question marks in his past. If only the Republicans could admit the same thing about Palin. I'm undecided on who I'm voting for because I don't trust either one of them. It will come down to the best of two evils.

Didn't say you, I said the dems. I see the same blindness coming from both sides. You are comparing yourself to "republicans". I am comparing "republicans" to "democrats".
September 10, 200818 yr That's about 100 times that statment has been used, can you guys at least refrase it or something? Try something new like "Grasping at straws." And its appropriate every time. You all are actually getting pretty pathetic. Can you promise me that if McCain and Palin get elected you'll move to Canada and follow through on the promise?
September 10, 200818 yr Who cares? I see nothing here that's an issue. You don't. I do. Neither of us are right. My concern is her use of "God's Will" to justify political actions. Is this her rationale for foreign policy? The idea that the U.S. is "sending soldiers out on a task that is from God" is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard.

I am afraid a little too much caving of Governor Palin's part here, specifically to the religious section of the conservative movement. Obviously, she wouldn't justify a decision simply on this, but it is a ridiculous thing to say.
