Reagan, Clinton Reagan was the governor of California for 8 years, Palin doesn't come close to that. Clinton was the governor of Arkansas for 8 years. Palin doesn't come close to that. They both had much more extensive and in-depth experience.

They both had much more extensive and in-depth experience. Using time served in a position of leadership as a measure, Palin and Obama are fairly close wouldn't you say?

The difference is Obama would go directly to POTUS, while Palin wouldn't.
September 10, 200818 yr I think that the appeal that many feel for her experience, as opposed to Obama's, is that none of her experience involves Washington. Many people are looking for an individual that cannot be tied to a political arena that most Americans have lost faith in evident by the poor ratings of both the President and Congress. Many believe that saying "you have experience in Washington" is not necessarily a good thing

Her popularity amongst Alaskans during her years as governor tells me yes her experience in public service as both a mayor and governor is every bit as "shining" as his. Obviously, they faced different issues with her in an executive position and him in a legislative role, but I don't buy the argument that his experience is superior to hers by virtue of the fact that he was a state senator while she was the mayor of a small town. If you do that's fine, I just don't.

Palin has run a state, Obama has never ran anything. If we're going to say one has more than the other I don't see how anyone can say it's Obama.

Pretty easy for me really.

He may understand how things work in Washington, but did he run anything? I understand that he may have more political experience, and I would agree with that, but as far as running anything goes, I'd say neither has the ideal experience we should be looking for.
September 10, 200818 yr I'd say neither has the ideal experience we should be looking for. Agreed. But looking at it independently, I think Obama lacks the preferred experience but has enough to suffice while Palin imo has no business being a candidate for VP.
