If times had been more racially equal, there would be a history of black comic book heroes. I am not an expert on comic books, but I bet the vast majority were white.

 

Eddie Murphy played Dr. Doolittle and Nutty Professor, both previously known as white characters and did a great job. No big deal.

Race plays no issue, I think the Fresh Prince would be a great CA.

Marvel has come out and denied this. Said they have never spoken to Smith about this project, offered him this project or anything of that nature.

 

After hearing that and if Marvel is telling the truth, I'm very relieved. Captain America needs his own movie and putting Will Smith in that role would be a disaster. My views aren't based on race, although I don't believe any black man should play the role, but the role should go to a complete unknown.

I always enjoyed reading Captain America comics, as a youngster. Do you mean in the comics or movies, that the Steve Rogers character was originally black?

Will Smith is one of my favorite actors ever along with Chevy Chase! I've enjoyed every movie he's ever been in, and if he plays Captain America, I can almost guarentee that this will be a hit!

 

With that being said, for those of you who say "Race is no issue", "Race shouldn't be an issue", or "Your making a race issue out if it" need to wake up and smell the coffee. Of course it's going to be a race issue... it's the world that we live in. I dont think SVfan was trying to stir up a heated discussion, he was asking IMO a good question. Would people throw a fit if Will Smith played CA because he's black? I dont think that SVfan should have to explain himself or have to defend himself for asking a simple question. To me, comments such as "Not making a race issue? Then what are you making it?" are just trying to start trouble because those types of questions IMO are an attempt to make the orig. poster look bad. Thats just the way I look at it.

I don't know what the big hoopla is about, Will Smith played Jim West and it wasn't an issue.

It's from a French movie called Irreversible.

 

The movie is much like Memento, where the story is told backwards. The beginning of the film is actually the end, etc, etc.

 

The picture is from the most memorable scene in the movie, a scene that still bothers me to this day and I have a hard time sitting through. Without getting too graphic, let's just say the woman gets attacked by a man in an underground tunnel and you can imagine what happens next.

 

Once you get past the shocking opening scene and this tunnel scene, the film evolves into one heck of a movie with most of the scenes done in one shot. The ending is truly tragic because you know how the day is going to go for these characters.
