After hearing so much about the Fleming team, I'm kind of worried now.

Harlan Co - 27

Fleming Co - 13

I think the trip for the Bears put them at a 14 point disadvantage right from the get-go! Thats a long time to be on a bus. I still think that trip was the biggest single factor last year for Cawood in their win against Fleming. Turn about is fair play and the Bears will have to play through fatigue among other things. This one will not be easy!

4 hour bus ride, ouch.

Not to start up another fight on the 3A-5A situation but how does this make any sense 187 mile one way trip for a district game. Surely there is a better way to keep these districts closer for games. Harlan Co fans, just as Fleming fans last year will only be a fraction of fans that would normally go to a high school football game.

It gets a lot better next year as far as traveling is concerned.

I think last year (if I'm remembering correctly) Fleming Co. came on Friday and stayed the night and then played on Saturday, adding to the expense of the trip.

Don't think this has been mentioned yet but the game is at 6:30pm.

No they made the trip in one day, leaving Saturday morning and arrived mid afternoon.

I'll tell ya something that's a little funny.......Do yourselves a mapquest from Harlan to 3A Somerset and check the milage vs. 187 to Fleming Co. :D :sssh: :thumb:  :fight:

I think there might be a goat involved in this predicament......

Maxpreps has Harlan as the favorite by 4. Prediction was 35-31.

Studies have shown that Black Bears can travel great distances. So they should be alright. Black Bears 32-17. 1ts 126 miles to Richmond from Harlan stop in Richmond eat and then you just have 60 or so miles to go. Not to bad. I don't think this team can be that big and fast, players sizes get adjusted anyway. If they are that big they will have to deal with our speed.
