September 6, 200818 yr That's not what she said. She said her staff had never discussed the possibility of having Palin on, and now she is being called to account for the truthfulness of that statement.I was repeating a radio report on the story ... I have no reason to believe it isn't true.
September 6, 200818 yr Just my opinion - Oprah does not want and will not have Sarah Paline on her show. Go figure. During the Dem convention she cried her eyelashes off.She wasn't the only one. I did too. The reason why some will never understand.
September 6, 200818 yr She wasn't the only one. I did too. The reason why some will never understand. First - Is this the new "beautiful" grandson? If so, he's wonderful!!!! Second - I think I can understand why you and lots of other people cried their eyes out. It's hard for some of us to understand because we have always been used to seeing a white man stand up there and accept the nomination. Heck, we've been used to seeing white men run the whole show for as long as there has been a show to run. I can't speak for the world. although there are times I sure wish I could, but it doesn't matter to me what color the person is who is going to run the show as long as they know how to run it. I cannot vote for Obama, not because he is a bi-racial man, I can't vote for him because something about him makes me uneasy. Now on to Oprah. I have never liked Oprah but IMO, she has the right to invite whoever she wishes onto her show. Since her show is for the public, it kinda smells that she won't invite Palin on, but that's her choice and you'll never hear me say otherwise. September 6, 200818 yr It's Oprah's show. From my perspective, it was a stupid business move to insert herself into Obama's political campaign to begin with. I would either invite guests that would draw large audiences irrespective of the guests' political opinions or I would avoid politically polarizing figures altogether. But Oprah is a billionaire and I am not. It's her business.
September 6, 200818 yr As it has already been said a dozen times, this is Oprah's show and she can do pretty much whatever she wants with it. We know she has endorsed Obama, so why even bother having Palin on and having Oprah try to appear objective during the show, when we all know who she supports? Quite frankly, Oprah has more money than I can even imagine....she doesn't need the ratings.
September 6, 200818 yr Not on the basis of race, sex, creed, color, religion, disability or national origin. Politics isn't included.
September 6, 200818 yr Not based on race. Based on Ruby being a PR hound. Ruby wouldn't allow OJ because of the controversy over OJ's murder case.
September 6, 200818 yr The question isn't about what Opra does, don't get side tracked folks. The point is, Pailin is supposed to be READY to be president, but she is not ready to do an interview.
September 6, 200818 yr Author I wouldn't worry too much about backlash if I were Oprah. She has more followers than Palin ever will.I didn't know it was a cult. :scared:

Palin has been an official nominee for all of two days. She has done numerous interviews in the past and has acquitted herself very well. I am sure that Obama is dreading the prospect of Sarah Palin speaking directly to America on shows like Oprah's.

Pointing out that it's her show and she can do what she wants to is useless, we all know that. Fear is the reason she won't have her on.
