August 29, 200818 yr You mean a desperate move by a bad team. Are you saying this team isn't making the playoffs with/without Alexander??
August 29, 200818 yr If Rudi were to be traded for a receiver and they could also pick up Alexander, wouldn't this be an even better situation for the Bengals? Wouldn't a team needing a RB sign Alexander than trading a starting WR for Rudi Johnson? Wouldn't make since to me.
August 29, 200818 yr If Rudi were to be traded for a receiver and they could also pick up Alexander, wouldn't this be an even better situation for the Bengals? I don't think there are any takers for Rudi's services.
August 29, 200818 yr Author I said it before and I will say it again, I think Alexander is a step above Rudi. If the Bengals cut Rudi and sign Alexander for less than what they were going to pay Rudi I think it may be a good move.
August 29, 200818 yr Swapping out Rudi for Alexander does not improve the Bengals Rb situation one iota. Maybe a nice hometown-flavor, feel-good story, but that's about it. Haven't we seen this in Cincy in another sport? Didn't work out then and won't work out now. Best thing the Bungals can do is just blow the whole organization up and start over.

If the Bengals cut Rudi and sign Alexander for less than what they were going to pay Rudi I think it may be a good move. I'd do that in a heartbeat, if for no other reason than they both pose equal injury risk and are probably a wash as far as potential production, but Shaun brings more in terms of leadership and can be gotten much cheaper.
August 29, 200818 yr Plus I think Shawn is more elusive and a better pass receiver. I am a huge Shuan fan, however, he doesn't have that good of hands. The Seahawks used Morris in most of their passing downs.

August 29, 200818 yr If they release Rudi does he still get paid? Of so, that don't sound like a Mike Brown move.

August 29, 200818 yr Not in the NFL However, any signing bonus he got with his last contract that has not been accounted for would immediately go against the cap.
