August 26, 200818 yr I thought that she did well. Sort of ho-hum, imo. She did fine, just not much to the speech. I thought the kids were cute and gained Obama some votes. So where was Barack? I heard him mention both St. Louis and Kansas City? It would be kind of cool to elect a President that has teleportal powers.
August 26, 200818 yr I watched tonight, Kennedy did well but Michelle Obama didn't do anything for me. I thought her speech was phony. Maybe Hillary will add some excitement and do something unexpected. I don't think the Demo's gained anything tonight. I'm sure McCain wasn't watching it since it was on past his bedtime!
August 26, 200818 yr Tonight wasn't about convincing people to vote for Obama, but about softening voters into feeling that he and his family share an emotion and a story with the rest of the country, whether or not one agrees or disagrees with his policies. Tonight was about having people step back and say "I may not agree with Obama, but I like him and his family." And in that regard, I believe it was effective. Although Senator Kennedy's speech may have been the highlight of the night, Michelle Obama's delivery was exceptional. She is an impressive person, though she doesn't fit the cast of the quintessential First Lady and it remains to be seen how that will play out through the rest of the campaign.
August 26, 200818 yr Michelle Obama will have my respect. I may not like how she feels about this country or some of the things she says. Anyone that can watch their father suffer through MS, especially at such a young age for both of them, and still come out of it on top will always have my respect.
