January 31, 200917 yr Highlands is making up their Sharp game on Monday pending we don't get another storm.
February 2, 200917 yr Summit View plays IHM on Thursday this week. Nothing else on the schedule, so hopefully 1 of the schools that they were supposed to play last week can hook up and play.
February 3, 200917 yr Highlands 7th won big over Sharp tonight. Highlands 8th beat the Wildcats down in Falmouth 25-16. I didnt attend but son said it wasnt one of their better games but the got the win on the road.

I didnt attend but son said it wasnt one of their better games but the got the win on the road. HMS 7th coasted to a 30+ point victory over Sharp. The Birds are 7-1 in their last 8 games. The lone loss coming to Two Rivers (Holmes) who visit Fort Thomas tomorrow night for the rematch.

Monday (16th) Woodland visits, Tuesday Twenhofel, Wednesday Blessed Sacrament and for the final they're at Woodland. Couple this schedule with the possiblity of playing in the conference tournament Saturday and the Bulls playing a double header Sunday, Summit will not be playing in the Middle School State Tourney! A lot of ball in a 1 week span...hopefully, they won't lose focus!

CCMS site based council would have a fit and shut that amount of games down!:cry:
February 3, 200917 yr What about the private schools? Most of them dont have 6th grade competitive teams do they? Almost all catholic schools in NKY don't field competitive teams until 7th grade. I think the only exception is IHM.

February 3, 200917 yr Yes this is true... Kenton and Boone have teams from the 3rd grade as well but they are not competitive. The play at Heritage and old St Bens in Covington.

I know they lost Monroe, and w/the Harper kid concentrating on soccer, and losing the Appleman kid for almost 2 months due to the broken foot, but they are a better team then they are playing. Offense looks like it has never been ran, defense is sluggish and I wander if they know what help-side D is?

The Birds scoring 25 pts I think equated to a 1/2 a point per mile traveled. LOL
February 6, 200917 yr Highlands 49 Newport 40 Final 8th grade Birds were down 2 starters due to sickness and were down 40-31 with 4 minutes left in the game. They went on an 18-0 run to end the game led by Bailey Witte's 11 4th qtr points which included 3 treys. He ended up with 18 pts. Highlands' David Christian had an exceptional game on the boards and finished with 5 or 6 steals as well. If there was a loose ball he got it. Very nice comeback win for the Birds.
