January 16, 200917 yr What are your team's NKY conference records? I am thinking Highlands 8th is 6-3 with losses to Summit View, Holmes and Twenhofel. Wins over IHM, Blessed Sacrament, Woodland, Newport, CC Gold, Sharp. If memory serves and I counted right, Summit View is 9-0 so far in the conference with games next week at CC Gold and a big one at Twenhofel.

January 16, 200917 yr Sounds like a tough loss, were they short players like earlier in the week. Tough to play with 7 kids night in and night out. Newport actually had eight on the bench to use tonight. Point guard Garland was back in action which is a big plus for Newport however he fouled out early in the 4th along with Guilkey and then Stull suffered a ankle injury. By this time only Pearson and Baldwin were left out of the starting five. Sharp had to take over the point position and did a good job - even sunk a three. The other two that were in I'm not very familiar with them but they held their own. St. Pius had #4 (I believe Murphy is his last name) good point guard and a three shooter. Also a #10 could hit the three for them as well. But overall IMO Newport should have beaten St. Pius but foul trouble and a injury surely did not help.

January 17, 200917 yr CC Purple 7th beat Woodland tonight 57 - 53 in double OT. Geiman hit 2 free throws with 7 seconds left in regulation to take the lead by 2, then Woodland tied the game to force overtime. Geiman scored 9 of his 22 points in the two overtime periods going 7 of 8 from the line. CC Purple 8th lost to Woodland 53 - 43. Englemon was held to 4 but Felts, Graziani and #23?? scored about 12 each. Barth had 22 or 23 for CC. CC just couldn'y play defense in the 2nd half giving up 31 and made 4 of 12 free throws in the 4th quarter. Beechwood tomorrow morning for both CC Purple teams.

If you dont cut off his drives to the basket your in for a long day. He has a nice spin move on the baseline so be aware. I think he played in the frosh game last night vs. Highlands. I heard Highlands beat em by 30. :eek:

Unsure of the 7th grade score - the coach make substitutions way too liberally. 10 point lead at halftime and you lose the game???? 8th grade held Nussbaum to 17, lol. Lost 42 - 31. In reading the NKMSBL, if you play freshman basketball you are not allowed to play in the league. How does Beechwood get away with it? Why do they?:confused:

One or the other IMO. Birds have the Beechies next week. Hopefully we can get a legit answer prior to the game but to be honest I would rather play them with Nussbaum.
