I know Killercats has shown significant interest in getting involved in AAU but as a whole they need to get a group of them playing so they can learn to play together.

 

Yes you're right I would love to get a good group (not meaning just talent) to play together somewhere. However what prevents me the most is my job - I am in the professional field and also a supervisor in my field and sometimes have to respond with very little notice. My son would love to have the chance to play more basketball in fact I believe he would rather play basketball than baseball. He currently plays baseball for me and I have been very blessed to have some great assistant coaches that I can count on to take over the team when I am not around.

Has SV played Holmes yet? Also, has Twenhofel played the Bulldogs?

 

Yep.. Twenhofel lost in the first game of the year.

What are your team's NKY conference records? I am thinking Highlands 8th is 6-3 with losses to Summit View, Holmes and Twenhofel. Wins over IHM, Blessed Sacrament, Woodland, Newport, CC Gold, Sharp.

Newport 8th grade lost to St. Pius X by about 6 tonight. IMO Newport would have blowm St. Pius X away if not for foul trouble.

Big win for Summit View tonight. Beat Turkeyfoot by twenty. They are playing good team ball. If they keep playing the way they have the last two or three games they will be tough to beat.

This is a big time win for Woodland. The Birds got em by 1 pt in the Dayton tourney and held on last night for a 9 pt win. The Wildcats knocking off the Breds is really starting to make the end of the year tourney look very interesting.

 

That Engleman kid on Woodland is the real deal. If he grows to be 6'4 or taller he will be a definite Top 10 player in the Region. Will he go to Scott HS?

Sounds like many teams are starting to gel. Twenhofel losing Racke might be hurting them from a psychological standpoint.

Sounds like a tough loss, were they short players like earlier in the week. Tough to play with 7 kids night in and night out.

I say that but Woodland did what they had to down the stretch to win. Hitting big time foul shots when Twenhofel wasn't even close. I think I saw one air balled shot. Many, many wide open shots just didn't fall tonight.

It happens, its why they play the game. Engleman can fly up and down the court and once he gets up in the air with the ball anywhere near the basket it is going in. He can smooch it off the glass from 8 feet or stroke it in the paint. If someone works on him with some post moves he will be deadly.

 

Missing that many foul shots certainly lost the game. You have to atleast hit 60% if you want to win games.

The key on him is youi dont let him touch the ball if you can help it. They pretty much went to him everytime down the court. Felts and Jehn got in foul trouble early. They have a couple other tall kids who play well around the basket. They will be a very tough out in the tourney.

Woodland has proven before that they will do what it takes to win games that are close at the end. Good free throw shooting squad or at least they get the ball in the hands of the kids that can hit them when the pressure's on!
