They said the fireworks were fake at least 4 or 5 times on TV. I think it was Matt Lauer who said a few times how the Director of the show added these cinematic touches.

 

And when the footprints were nearing the stadium ,he mentioned how they were digitally added in.

This firework story and then the story comes out about the girl being too ugly for TV and they chose a pretty girl to lip sync instead.

 

Just hilarious, all you can do is laugh. :lol:

I think its pretty funny, as well. Its seems like the Chinese can't win for losing and everything they try so hard to do just backfires.

To be fair, the fireworks display actually did occur. They just didn't film it due to the logistical difficulties involved. So they decided to simulate what it would have looked like, using digital effects.

Really don't care about the fireworks but I do feel that the little girl that can really sing and wasn't allowed to appear on tv because of her looks should definately be in the closing ceremony. Her looks shouldn't matter. She has a beautiful voice and everyone in the world should be able to see who that voice and talent belongs to. Besides, personally I think she looks like the typical little girl, and I like that.

I thought the little girl that actually sang was cute. I feel sorry for her. How sad that people would tell her she is not cute enough to be in the ceremony.

What saw of it was very impressive :thumb:........and I guess that part of it was as fake as the ages on their women's gymnastic team.

I guess that smog is a little worse then they like to let on. I was watching a special on it the other day and it really is something to see.

I agree Henry - I couldn't believe the child who sang couldn't be seen on TV because of her looks, and they had another child lip sync. If they are so worried about looks they should have replaced the female divers looks from China last night.
