August 9, 200818 yr I was just looking on Gasbuddy.com and thought I'd take a look at the gas prices in Kentucky. http://www.kentuckygasprices.com/ I'm not sure how one gas station can get away with charging $4.29 a gallon when every other station in the state is less than $4. Are there any laws that regulate this type of thing or how does that work? I was just curious.
August 9, 200818 yr Yeah, and the state's highest gas price is right up the street from here. :irked:
August 9, 200818 yr 3.39!!! I thought the prices going down to 3.67 in Maysville was the best thing of the year.
August 10, 200818 yr Author I thought I made another post in this thread, but I don't see it. I'm not sure what happened. Anyways, I guess Glasgow is the hookup.
August 10, 200818 yr $3.49 in Bardstown. It dropped from yesterday's $3.62. Yeah, here in a week dropped from 4.09 to 3.99 to 3.75 to 3.67. I was waiting on it to go down more, but then stayed level.

I've found B'town to be pretty good about holding the line in the sea of loonyness. Thanks to Speedway for not having a store in town, as they're one of the biggest culprits in the craziness.

August 10, 200818 yr Thats a steal. Better jump on that. Yeah, I almost felt like I cheated somebody when my 20 bucks got me a whoppin' five gallons and change. Almost. :irked:
August 11, 200818 yr Should go down some Monday.. oil fell 4 bucks and continues to decline, 3.00 gas should return Thanksgivingish depending on a conflict with Iran. KY has higher gas tax than OH also.

KY has higher gas tax than OH also. Not true... not even close! That's what bugs me so much when gas is $3.85 in Florence and $3.60 in Cincinnati. Gas Tax Diesel Tax Kentucky 36.9 39.9 Ohio 46.4 52.4 Source
August 11, 200818 yr What I really don't understand, and I'm sure it's been discussed before, is how the same company can be lower one street over or even on the same street. Speedway comes to mind simply because there are so many of them. I just don't get how one can be 3.75 and another 3.67 right around the corner from each other.

Maybe the one station has different overhead costs or maybe they are trying to make more of profit. Of course you are free to buy from the store that you want to buy from.
