Shouldn't you wait to verify something like this before throwing it on a message board?

That's not good enough. You fancy yourself as the "insider" and then give out what could be not only embarrassing but ultimately false information about an 18 year old kid. If you have any plans on being a journalist some day I'd advise you to work on your sources and , more importantly, know what is appropriate to post for the world to see and what is not.

 

If you don't have it as fact, keep it under your hat. Its a disservice to the kid and his family.

I'd be surprised.. As GT said, those schools are strong academically, I don't think he squeezed by for 4 years on football skill alone.

In situations my "sources" are often more reliable that what the kid has to say. That's reality. There is a UC recruit I know is going to have to go JUCO. If I called him today, he'd say he'll be in. Ball isn't on the roster, and best I can tell he isn't practicing. I know he was borderline the entire time he was being recruited, and I don't think he made it. If he did, good for him, but it was based on something changing very recently.

This Ball rumor has been floating on one of the UofL boards all summer. Who knows...

I am going to defend "Gametime" on this one.

 

His sources have been very credible in the past. I would guess they are credible in this situation, due to the fact that Stephon Ball is not listed in the media guide. I can reach only one conclusion as to why he is not.

 

This is a chat room filled with opinions, editorials, and speculation. Of "Gametime's" 65,000 + posts, he has had mostly accurate information. I don't always agree with it, but percentages say that is the way it should be.

 

If you think "Gametime" threw 18 year old Stephon Ball under the bus, he is not the only one. U of L's Sports Information Department seems to have beat him to the punch by not listing him in the media guide.

 

Keep on posting "Gametime".....your passion for sports knowledge is appreciated by this BGP member!

I never put it as a done deal, just what I was hearing from people I trust. Another person I trust in the recruiting world asked him and he gave the answer I reported earlier. I hope he plays this year. I doubt he will.

I'd seriously consider taking my advice. Your integrity should be important. Posting rumors such as this without knowing its true lessens your integrity and causes us to doubt your other "inside info."

 

Otherwise you're exactly what people complain about when they complain about message boards.
