Below is a letter to Ms. Pelosi after she convened the session without a vote. I understand that there are partisan issues here, pleeeaaasse, someone convince me that she has a brain. This one hits the American people where it hurts and this confirms for me that she has no clue.

I have been followng this story on talk radio.....Amazingly enough, mainstream media hasnt had that much to say about it. I cant believe this type of chidish behavior actually goes on in our Congress. Even if she didnt agree and still did not allow a vote, common courtesy says you dont just walk out and shut everything down. This woman is blatantly using her power as Speaker to push her own PERSONAL agenda rather than that of the people.

I'm not a Pelosi fan. However the "turned the lights off" is more hyperbole than actual.

 

I was listening to Neal Bortz two days ago. He has an insider Congressional guy whose sole job is to report and talk about Congress. When Bortz brought up the "turned the lights off on them" the reporter told Neal, "that's not the whole story." The TV lights were turned off, not every light in the House. The TV lights are much brighter and are only on when the Congress is being televised in session. They are automatically kicked off when broadcast day is done. The mics are automatically turned off when there is no session as well.

 

I really believe this guy because Bortz immediately withdrew that part of his bona contention against Pelosi and moved on to the real issues for being upset with her leadership in this matter. Bortz would not have accepted it so easily were it not true. JMHO.

Just partisan politics. If the Republicans are to push through the drilling bill, oil futures will drop. So the gasoline price will drop immediately. Thus creating a victory for the Republicans just before election time. Wait till after the election, after Dems have won 60+ more seats in Congress, and 10+ more seats in the Senate. Not to mention maybe the Presidential election. They will try and play it off that they are resposible for the gas prices dropping, now that the evil Bush is gone. Then they will do away with term limits and effectively let Obama become our king.

She wouldn't even let it go to a vote- does that not seem like the most undemocratic thing ever?

She is acting like some kind of kid playing the power role for the first time and has no clue. She is going to save the planet all by herself.

I'm not a big Pelosi fan either. I wish she could be replaced as quickly as possible.
