Just thought I'd throw that out there. I am not a Dusty fan, nor have I ever been. He's had his issues, the extra-inning Harang issue among them. I'll add a poll just to see how folks feel.

I know as a Cubs fan I had a lot of high hopes when Baker came over from S.F. , but after a while had a very let down mind state in his abilities as a manager. I'm sure many Reds fans feel the same way, and I'm guessing its because even though Dusty is a terrific manager, he lacks the fire than many managers around the league has. Instead of chewing umps, he chews his toothpick.

I am not a big Dusty fan. But I'm not ready to put him down yet, I think he has made some horrible decisions, like COREY PATTERSON, but it's also not his fault the hitting hasn't been where it needs to be. I give him another offseason to deal with the team and see how it pans out.

Put Dusty in with the Yankees, Mets, or Tigers and he would be a winner. Put him with kids and you get what you're getting now. Look what happened to Piniella in Tampa Bay. Or Grady Little in Philadelphia. The Reds should have got a manager with some fire in his belly that both kids and vets could relate to.

This is a transition year, for developing talent with the Reds. His decisions will look great sometimes, then we'll say "why" at others.

 

It's a struggle to compete, with this many new and inexperienced players at the MLB level. I'm not a big Dusty fan either, but honestly not sure anyone else, could get more out of this team, than he has.

I don't think he has done a great job with the Reds this year, but we shall see what moves are made, either this week or at the end of the year.

 

He continues to make these same mistakes next year, let the next manager search begin.

I never liked him...He was a L.A. Dodger player back when I was a Kid....That was when The Reds and the The Dodgers were in the West Division and there were only two divisions...My best friend at the time was a dodgers fan...I do not know why but he made me a dodgers hater...I guess what I am trying to say is Once a Dodger hater always a Dodger hater...:thumb:

I've seen more to dislike than like but I think he needs another year before we make the judgment as to him being the Reds manager.

Why does everyone say this team is loaded with inexperience?

2 field players and 2 pitchers out of 25 guys? I'd say it's a struggle to compete with so many sub par players. Many more of those than rookies on this team. Also they have had some injuries. We, though going down different paths, do agree that no one else does any better.

I can think of atleast 3 pitchers without making my brain work very hard who don't have much experience.

Not a Dusty fan. I sad before that I would wait untill season's end to judge ( and that may not be long enough) but some of the dcisions/non decisions that have seen him make moved me to vote No on Dusty. This is July and it has been seasons end in Cincy for some time now. I don't want promises or excuses, I want "W's".
