I agree.

One of the raps on Baker was his seeming tendency to burn up his pitching

staffs. It remains to be seen if that is the case in Cincinnati: is that what

he is guilty of in the case of Edinson Volquez or is it the failure early of

Aaron Harang and Bronson Arroyo that led to Volquez having to become

'The Man' and roll up the innings?

Why does everyone say this team is loaded with inexperience?

2 field players and 2 pitchers out of 25 guys? I'd say it's a struggle to compete with so many sub par players. Many more of those than rookies on this team. Also they have had some injuries. We, though going down different paths, do agree that no one else does any better.

Factor that in with our vets Griffey and Dunn who are hitting in the .230's and thats the recipe for a bad season.

He's not the reason the Reds are losing, but I lose a lot of respect/confidence in him when he continues to play Patterson and then bats him leadoff when he does play and insists on leaving Griffey in 3 hole despite him having no business being there.

Exactly what I said; 2 field players and 2 pitchers. To list players with 4 or more years as inexperinced is ludicrous. The Reds are NOT a "young team". It's not lack of experience, it's lack of ability. Tired of the excuses.

Phillips isn't what I would call experienced. He is just coming into his prime. Cincinnati needs a solid catcher as they are often the backbone of a team. They may not be 'young' but they do lack important experience.

Brandon Phillips has played a few years now, and maybe lack of experience is the wrong term to use. He does need to grow up though. If he wants to be the leader of this team he needs to start acting like it. When I watch games on tv, everytime he hits a ground ball or pop up, he curses loud enough for a speaker to pick it up. I'm all for people getting upset about getting out, but thats just not necessary and lack of maturity if you ask me.
