Love throwing a "splash it" or a fluke. I also love the Whitey on the river. I have 3 that I bought a few years ago. Last I remembered you had to ask for them and that he had them behind the counter at the tackle box.

That's exactly what I said when I saw it. This one is bigger though, than the AC's I used to have. Its about 3" or so.

The Whitey is White.

My favorites and in no certain order, would depend on conditions and whatever may be working at the time........

 

1. Buzzbait....nothing quite like a fish blowing up on a buzzbait (Bass and Musky), White ones in bright, sunny conditions and Black in cloudy skies.

2. Minnow types - Rapala, Rougue and othet type stick baits (somtime a bass just wants somthing "suttle"with very little noise on top.

3. Plastic frogs - there are several types of these and mostly used in weeds, matted grass and similar type cover. These, like buzzbaits can produce some explosive strikes.

4. Jitterbug - probably my all time favorite topwater for night fishing, color doesn't matter as long as it's Black.

The bait is thinner than an AC Shiner.

 

The "Whitey" is silver but has a white back instead of the black back on this bait, is the same bait though (different color back).

There were several nights when the dead sea wasn't so dead. :thumb: They (bass) got me a lot of times and won but there were some where we "wacked em" good.:thumb:

Where is that bait shop in Ironton? Easier to get too crossing the Ashalnd bridge or the Russell bridge?

Cross the Russell bridge. Turn left at the first light, go thru 2 more lights (I think) and you'll come to a 4way stop, the bait shop is in the plaza on your left right next to a Chinese restaurant. They have alot of stuff, worth the trip. Friendly folks too.:thumb:

Had a great morning with just me and a "Whitey". I was taking pics myself so they are not great. They were all pre-spawn. The 4lbers tail was mangled from fanning.
