July 13, 200818 yr :thumb: I agree and as November approaches it will be football season as well and I will be spending more time there and in college (U.K.) basketball threads. You know, the important things. Good one.
July 13, 200818 yr Author It does get frustrating sometimes; not enough true debate and way too much blind bashing. And it will only get worse as November approaches. But I still enjoy hanging out over there. To be honest, I'm terrified to even go to P&R, let alone post in it.

July 13, 200818 yr McPapa and Oldramber, it wouldn't be the same without you all in the P/R forum! Make sure you don't stay away too long. Oh, I'm sure we will be making the occasional appearance. But as football approaches, our free time may be at a premium...
July 13, 200818 yr To be honest, I'm terrified to even go to P&R, let alone post in it.I agree. Way too scary in there. Every time I even try to peak in there, I get sucked into the endless abyss.
July 13, 200818 yr Oh, I'm sure we will be making the occasional appearance. But as football approaches, our free time may be at a premium... Me, too, honestly, though in the HS football forum. But I have kind of gotten hooked on P/R too!
July 13, 200818 yr Oh, I'm sure we will be making the occasional appearance. But as football approaches, our free time may be at a premium... :thumb: Like I said, the important things .....football then college basketball. We will get our priotrities in order and for me politics falls way down the list around that time of the year.
July 13, 200818 yr Way too much. I prefer it over actually calling somebody most of the time. Not most of the time, but sometimes you just don't feel like moving your mouth and holding the phone to your ear. Everyone can be lazy sometimes.
July 13, 200818 yr Hey, I knew we would eventually agree on something, even though we had to get out of P&R to find some common ground. Actually, I think texting is more of a "kid thing". I see very few grownups doing it; but lots of teenagers work those thumbs down to the nubs. I understand that there are circumstances when it's more convenient and/or practical to text. But those situations aside, I guess if someone is important enough for me to contact, I'll call. Probably because they just dont know how. I actually know many adults that text.
July 13, 200818 yr I was suprised when I got a text message from a 60 year old colleague who was on vacation in Hawaii. She had actually sent me a picture with a little note about some lava flows! Texting is quickly catching on with adults, I think. One of the best uses of texting that I can think of is by the boys basketball coach at our school. If your whole entire team has a cell phone (and tell me how many high schooler's don't?) the best and most efficient way to communicate is by sending a group text. He reminds them about practice times, schedule changes, etc, that way.
July 13, 200818 yr Author Oops :sssh:....Try Plan C and slowly turn to your left, get up out of chair and then rapidly drive to the nearest florist. Uh oh!
July 13, 200818 yr Probably because they just dont know how. I actually know many adults that text.  And I too know many adults that text, quite a bit actually.
July 13, 200818 yr Why would I want to spend 45 minutes to an hour calling everyone, when I can take 10 seconds and send a group text to them, and get just as much accomplished?
