June 27, 200818 yr Good luck to Joe. I hope he makes the team but I see him possibily going the route of Azibuke and playing in the D-league a year or so and turning into a NBA player.

June 27, 200818 yr You might be right. I'm at least able to admit it. I'm not writing him off, as there are always exceptions, I just don't see it right now. After a couple of years in the D League and some development, MAYBE, but right now, no. But hey, he'll be getting some First Round dough.

June 28, 200818 yr Considering that Joe was playing at an All-American level at the end of the season, I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him playing in the NBA next season. He has plenty of talent.

I think its 50/50 as to whether or not he makes the team. He has gotten much better over the last year. It is one thing Gillispie has done that has been great is made Joe Crawford into a very good player. I believe in order for him to make it he has to do everything he can to be a great defensive player. IMO thats his only real meal ticket.

June 28, 200818 yr Explain? By that I mean hang around the league and contribute similar to Bogans. I don't know what his reason is, but mine is that Bogans is both stronger and quicker than Crawford, which makes it less likely Crawford will stick or have the success Bogans has had.
June 28, 200818 yr Joe does not have the length to make it in the league. You hit the nail on the head. He is too short and wont be able to beat 6'4 6'5 guys off the dribble in the NBA. Not a true point guard so I would expect he gets cut and plays in Europe. $100 G's a year and expenses paid, not too shabby. Just ask Bingo.
