Top QB in KY 2008...

Who do you think the best QB in the state is going to be this season and why?

I would like to say whoever Trinity's next QB is, but I know nothing of the talent level for this upcoming season. At the same time I am fairly certain there will be a few QBs better then our next starter.

Ricky Bowling South Laurel HS

Van Issac from Harrison County is a great QB, one of the best I've seen in a while. He has great receivers that can go up and get many balls, one of the main reasons they went further than any Harrison County team ever has this past year. I look to see his name out the alot this upcoming season.

My 1st choice would be Clay County - Zach Lewis but he is getting a new coach this season so we will see, 2nd choice South Laurel - Ricky Bowling smaller but tough kid, 3rd choice would be and I'm going way out on a limb here but I liked what I saw of him last year, with some weight added this year and given the same offensive attack Henry County - Hayden Yancey:thumb:

Hines at Fern Creek ought to be pretty good.

If the Pryor kid is back from Ballard, I expect him to have a great year under Mike.

Don't know the kids name but the QB from LexCath can sling it. For only being a junior to be, this kid can flat out throw the ball. I expect to hear alot from this young man the next couple of years. He does come to Ft Thomas this year to play the Birds!!!!! Can't wait.

I think you're talking about Nick Ward at LexCath

Lucas Witt

Lexington Christian

Come on now one of the best in the state? Is he even the best in the district?

I think the Banks kid from Letcher Central has to be at the top of the list. I was really impressed with his showing against the Birds last year. Kid has great size and a really nice arm (fortunately for us, he got almost zero time to pass the ball. Heck, sometimes I think we had linebackers and D linemen getting to him before the ball did :thumb:). Showed pretty good running ability also and I'm told he had a bad hamstring. He also took a licking and kept on ticking. Tough kid. I have a feeling that he'll put up great numbers this year, but some will wonder about the strength of schedule impact. In order for him to get any all state consideration, Letcher Central is going to have to go really deep into the 5A playoffs and they are going to have to knock off some traditional powerhouse programs though.

Zach Blanton- Harlan County High

I was told that Blake Polson is the frontrunner for the QB spot for the Black Bears.

It will come down to either Blanton or Polson, but I seen them at a pass skelly and Blanton was throwing some nice balls. Not to take anything away from Polson...Blanton can run and throw..

Top Mountain QB's

Lewis- Clay Co.

Bowling-South L.

Olinger-Hazard

Olinger from Hazard and Banks from LCC are probably the two best Dual-Threat QB's you will see... Olinger accounted nearly 5000 yards and 50 TD last season...
