Starland Vocal Band. They did nothing else. In one of the great Grammy gaffs they got the grammy for best New Artist over a group called Boston.

No. And Starland Vocal Band actually had a variety show similar to the Donny and Marie Show and Sonny and Cher Show for a whoppin' six weeks. Interestingly enough, David Letterman was involved with the show. Two extremely funny uses of that song -- and it is a great song -- in recent pop culture include the scene in "Good Will Hunting" where Will is supposed to be hypnotized, and in "Arrested Development" when Michael Bluth and neice Maybe are doing a duet of the song at a charity fundraiser, and they realize midway through the tune that it's a lot more racy than it seems. In both cases, hilarity ensues.
