He took batting practice on the field before the game, did some agility work and thinks he could be ready for a rehab assignment in a week. He's walking around and showing no signs of slowing down.

Bruce goes 1-3 and proves that he is human, now hitting .800 instead of .1000, he is in a slump already! :lol: Harriston has been playing well and Votto is really hitting as well. E5 I have come to the conclusion that he will make the real tough and bang/bang plays, is when he has time to think about it is when he screws up. Was good to hear that Keppinger and Gonzalez getting some work in. I really want to get Kepp back although Harriston is playing very well. Hopefully this trend of playing the way they are and with this enthusiasm will continue. Amazing how a kid like Bruce can put life into everyone on the ball club. Lets just hope that Dusty doesn't try to "tweek" his (Bruce's) swing and make a carrer .220 hitter out of him.

The Bats hold on and win 2-1. ^ Those were Thompson's final numbers. I believe he may be the next SP called up. Also, Majewski pitches the 8th and 0 BB 0 H and 2 K's. He may be the man who takes Weathers spot eventually.

Can anyone tell me if the Reds have any promising lefthanders in the minors? Bailey and Thompson are both RHP's. IMO a quality lefthand starter is needed in the rotation. Should there not be anyone that is close to ready in the minors that would be one thing that I would be looking to trade for. JMO a lefty starter is needed in the rotation, what does everyone else think?

JMO a lefty starter is needed in the rotation, what does everyone else think? Matt Maloney is a 24 year old LH starter in AAA Louisville. Right now he is 5-2 with a 4.28 ERA. In AA Chattanooga there's Ben Jukich, big 6'4 kid who is 25 years old, he is currently 4-2 with a 2.63 ERA. Other than those two, I don't think there's a whole lot to look forward to in the system right now.

Phil Dumatrait (1-2, 4.05) who was moved up a day to give starter Zach Duke (finger) an extra day of rest, has pitched well in five starts with Pittsburgh. To me , you get the exact same thing: lots of pitches thrown in 5 innings and the need to go to your pen in the 6th. Isn't that why Bailey is in Louisville?

I would think attitude and willingness to listen to others is one huge reason. Also Cueto's BA against and SO/BB ratio is a lot better than Bailey's. I don't think they are even close to the same pitcher.

While I do mostly agree with the so called Reds experts on here, the only answer I have gotten is that its different. You are exactly right about Bailey. Why is it ok for Cueto to do the exact same thing that people blast Homer for? People say he has a bad attitude...well he should, getting past over and your replacement is doing the same thing.
