Obama wins N.C., Hillary wins Indiana.

Obama gains momentum. Does today's results make Kentucky's May 20th primary meaningful?

I don't see where tonight's results give Obama any additional momentum. He has proven that he can win states with large African-American populations. He is trailing badly in the polls in both West Virginia and Kentucky which will hold the next two primaries. Obama has the nomination all but locked up, but he needed to win Indiana to gain any momentum and prove that he has broad appeal.

Obama will win the nomination, McCain will win the white house. Obama won't be able to connect with middle America when it comes down to it. His disenfranchising of Florida and Michigan voters will hurt him in the general election. If Clinton supporters go against Obama in numbers like the polls are showing Obama might loose Pennsylvania as well. Obama also has done well in the south, but in a general election he won't be able to carry the south. The African-American vote could get him the primaries in these states but with the exception of South Carolina and Mississippi he will get waxed in the south. Although I expect him to loose MS and S.C. as well.

It looks like I may have to take back my assertion that Obama did not pick up momentum. Gary seems to be waiting to see how many votes Obama needed to win the state.

"Let me tell you, when all the votes are counted, when Gary comes in, I think you're looking at something for the world to see," Clay, an Obama supporter, said in a telephone interview from Obama's Gary headquarters. "I don't know what the numbers are yet, but Gary has absolutely produced in large numbers for Obama here." - Gary Mayor Predicts Possible Indiana Shocker

This years choices remind me of a line from an old song by The Who....'meet the new boss....same as the old boss.'

Lets hope your wrong on who wins the whie house. McCain = No change in what this Country's going through.

I think McCain would change some things but that doesn't make me feel any better about him. I really can't see the republicans keeping the White House. This shapes up to be a huge year for the democrats.

So you're in favor of higher taxes and more government controls on our lives?

Nope, I am for the millionaires and buisnesses that take jobs outside of the country. I am for a war with no end in sight, or any idea of what victory looks like. I am for the oil companies, bless their hearts their only making 8% profit, I am for using my religious views in one stance and totally ignore them in the next stance. That is what I am for... in other words go Mccain.

Bingo. McCain is going to be great for this country. It's easy to tell that he's going to do good things...because the ultra conservatives and liberals both hate him. In my book, that makes him perfect. :thumb:

For the record, I like him a lot better than GWB.

I am for the oil companies, bless their hearts their only making 8% profit...
Of course, I'm sure you're aware that this is less than the profit margin of most corporations. Would you prefer the oil companies operate and non-profit organizations?

Like you said...Go McCain! :thumb:

Well personally, I'm for the party that gave me a huge tax break this year. I'm not even close to a millionaire, my parents and my in laws aren't close either and between the 3 families the Bush tax cuts will put about 1200 more bucks each in our families. So I don't want to see them go thats like an extra pay day this year and we aren't the wealthiest 1 %!

I'm starting to see signs of a possible Clinton VP nod in the works.............which is probably what the Democrats need to win the White House.

For the record, this country has never had a negative amount of net jobs over the course of a year. We add about 2 million jobs per year, and often those manufacturing jobs sent out of the country give poor countries the opportunity to grow, as well as cheaper (and sometimes better quality) products for consumers. And who are the consumers? Oh yes! That's you and I!

So let me get this straight: The millionaires make their money, the bad jobs in this country leave (to be replaced by EVEN MORE higher paying ones), the developing countries get valuable jobs, and capital (physical and knowledge), and us, the consumers, get lower-priced goods. So this is what you are against?

And as for being for the oil companies, let me ask two questions? Who do the oil companies employ? Who owns the stock in the oil companies? By golly, once again it is you and I (actually, I don't own stock, so my parents). There profit-maximizing schemes, to line the pockets of the average Americans, are so evil.

And let's remember here, what is the best way that the oil companies can lower costs? No, no, I can assure you that it is not taxing them more- if the government said, "Now, Mr. Fundamental, I am going to take $10 more of the $100 your basketball-training facility just made. So, Mrs. Pelosi and I expect that you will only lower your prices, right?" Because whenever the government takes money from someone, all they want to do is begin to make less money! Sounds great!

If you want to be against the war, be my guest. IMO it is the only argument that makes any practical sense to vote Democrat. I disagree with your position, I think that what we are doing is right and the soldiers would agree with me (and now would be the worst time to leave), but I can't convince you there.

As for the religious values, I'm sorry for following my conscience. I oppose gay marriage, the death penalty, and abortion. I am not sure how I am ignoring them at all?
