April 22, 200818 yr I think it should only be done with probable cause, period! Just like I think that having DUI checkpoints are wrong.
April 22, 200818 yr I agree with this. No way a kid gets tested if the adults aren't. Why wouldn't you want your child to be tested? I would want to know.
April 22, 200818 yr I believe everyone should be. Teachers, students, athletes, administrators, bus drivers, cooks, janitors, everyone should be.
April 22, 200818 yr Why wouldn't you want your child to be tested? I would want to know. Tell me why the adults wouldn't want to be tested?
April 22, 200818 yr Tell me why the adults wouldn't want to be tested? You didn't answer the question. Instead you muddied it with another question that is a seperate issue. Those merits could certainly be debated. Again why would you not want to know if your kid was doing performance or recreational drugs?

April 22, 200818 yr I personally think singling out the athletes is wrong. If you are going to drug-test then random the whole school/student body. They do urine test typically... and I take they are testing for THC, Narcotics ? Teachers definetely should be... or any other employee at the school. :thumb: I agree.

Again why would you not want to know if your kid was doing performance or recreational drugs? Actually my two teenage boys have taken pre employment drug screens. I can be randomly tested at work. I have no qualms with random drug tests. Do you think the kids should be tested when the faculty is not? Itis pertinent to this topic

Do you think the kids should be tested when the faculty is not? Itis pertinent to this topic Maybe in your mind it is, but I don't see any relation. Each argument would have its own pro's and con's. I am not a big fan of well if you are going to test X then you better test Y and Z. If it makes sense to test school personal then do it, but don't do it because you are testing athletes.
April 22, 200818 yr I think that administrators should have the right to randomly, or not so randomly test teachers. We have it where I work. Any employee can be tested at any time. I think that most professions should allow for that. I dont see the relationship between the students and faculty. Just because the students are tested does not necessarily mean the teachers have to also. Those are two different issues IMO.

So you think that athletes and athletes only should be tested?
April 22, 200818 yr So you think that athletes and athletes only should be tested? Uh..... no. Where did you possibly get that from? I never even came close to saying that. I said there is an argument for athletes and an argument for school personnel and they should not be connected.
April 22, 200818 yr Personally, I could care less if they test me or not. I see it as a waste of taxpayers' dollars. They are going to get positive results back for a handful of diabetes medicine, high cholestrol, baby aspirin, diabetic vitamin supplement, stomach gas medicine and too many Little Debbie Swiss Cake Roles on me.
