Im not sure if this is true so im asking if anyone else has heard this. I heard that the only non-district games Cooper can play are some of the teams the other 6A teams are dropping to play Cooper. Has anyone else heard this and what teams are the other schools dropping to play them.

That would make sense seeing as those teams would all be short a game and with Cooper playing a varsity schedule they would more than likely have to take those games. But I also haven't heard anything more from this.

I think it would be really hard to really say anything bad about Randy Borchers. He is a high class individual who has done nothing short of a great job as a football coach. I know everybody is entitled to their own opinion of what they think of someone but I will stae mine. Randy Borchers was a terrific hire and given the chacne to coach 80 or more kids presents a better chance to win rather than getting 40 or less kids. Let Coach Borchers get his staff together and we will see what will happen. I might be wrong, I am not a fortune teller, and I do not know how the next season will go for Cooper's inaugural season, but I beleive that Randy Borchers was a good hire.

 

This is just my opinion.

I have known Randy for a long time and I consider him a good friend of mine. He is very passionate about the game of football and he brings that passion onto the field. He will more than likely install a spread offense at Cooper which might be a little different for things up in nky 6A.. At least from what I noticed most of the schools up there are power running teams. Randy runs an aggressive defense that gives a lot of different looks. With the potential numbers and talent at Cooper, I believe they will turn into a contender.

I have talked to some current and former players from Ludlow over the past week. I can tell you that many of the players are upset that he is leaving. Coach Borchers demands respect from his players and took pride in doing things right. He always did what he felt was best for the players and the entire program. This sometimes caused controversy because he did not get involved in all of the politics of a small town. There are a few people in Ludlow who were glad to see him leave but I can reassure you it was a small number. A few town idiots may get on here and say otherwise but unfortunately they seem to be the ones that like to talk a lot. I can tell you that after talking to some people in Ludlow they are very upset with a few people who told bold face lies about him. In his two years at Ludlow he replaced the scoreboard, updated much needed equipment, and worked very hard to get a new weightroom. If the people at Cooper do not fall in love with him in two years I will be shocked. I must warn you that he will be very honest with you and you will know where your child stands in the program.

I do not know Coach Borchers at all and cannot add any imput as far as that goes.

I just want to wish Coach Randy Borchers and Cooper High the very best. I am sure that there are a lot of very excited kids, parents and fans looking foward to getting the Cooper football program off of the ground. I feel that with the tradition of very good football in NKY that Coach Borchers will build a very sucsessful program.

I will say that my only suggestion would be for the parents and fans of Cooper High to give this man time and your full support in building the Cooper High football program.

Anyway back on topic I do wish Randy well. It will be an uphill fight for him to produce a winning program at Cooper. The administration did him no favor by jumping right into varsity play. With the new round of realignment coming soon why not wait till then?

I agree that it will be rough starting out at Cooper. That is the beauty of the whole thing, expectations will not be that high starting out. He has time to grow with the program.
