I had heard that they changed the way teams are considered eligible for the All A. The bottom 125? get in.....so competition will be a little tougher. Teams like Desales and Christian Academy of Louisville will be eligible out of the 6th and 7th regions.....both teams have to be considered if that is true.

Good point ... yes, the smallest 125 schools are eligible. I'm not sure who that gets in across the entire state.

 

If DeSales and CAL are in, that makes the tournament considerably stronger. The Louisville schools traditionally don't fare very well at Richmond.

Elliott County would be my pick, but Hazard impressed me in the sweet sixteen, they should make a serious run at the title. I read in another thread that UHA had some new kids coming in so don't count out Coach M'Coy's bunch if that is true.

Somerset owns the 12th. Danville and Burgin return a lot of players though.

Hazard is my favorite. Elliott Co. should be their toughest challenge.

I'd say Elliot Co is the favorite with Hazard slightly behind. Wouldn't be surprised to see either team win it.

I wouldn't count Bardstown out they only lose one starter and they were a junior laden team. Alot of the players have been there the last two years and know what it takes to win the title.

I think you might underestimate the impact that the streak will have on next years team. No team wants to be the one that ends the streak. I think those young jumpers will be plenty strong enough to make it back to Richmond, and once you get there who, knows.

Lynn Camp should be the favorite in the 13th. Playing in the Cumberland falls next year and playing teams like Corbin in the regular season should make them much better. Plus, they return a lot of very talented players from a regional semifinal run. Middlesboro has a lot of talent and athletic ability but they are too inconsistent. Barbourville will be much improved and Pineville will be better than expected. The 13th should be fun to watch.

 

LC is also a revolving door. You never know who is going to be playing from one year to the next.

Too many. In all fairness though, they usually do have some pretty good talent. There is just no coach to speak of to hone that talent into a contender. If they get a coach, they could make a little noise.

Any chance some of the kids in Harlan Co. decide to go to Harlan Ind. with the consolidation? Maybe some Cawood kids? Could help Harlan to contend a little better.

They'd be ineligible without moving.
