Unless I missed it, noone mentioned anything about the 8th region. You can't overlook Gallain County and the success they have had. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Owen County will be back in Class A with wealth of talent. Both of these programs have great coaches and could make a run.

I agree with you on both Gallatin and Owen County. With the re-addition of Owen County, that makes the 8th region all a more interesting. Gallatin has three returning starters still in Carlton, Jones, and a pretty good player in Maddox. I know Owen has Shelton, and Gamble. Those are the two that stood out in my mind.

Walton Verona also has a few kids with some varsity experience returning. If my recollection is right, Vance Sullivan and Jordan Ponzer played quiet a bit in the regional tournament. I think Sullivan is a nice point guard who will learn with time to make better decisions and Ponzer is a nice scorer, who showed he can play with the big boys. I think Walton is in need of a big man, but who couldn't use a big man. I think Vance and Jordan really contributed to the regional game this year, and I would expect big things from them coming up next year. As far as being a contender, I wouldn't expect that until their senior year. But who knows? Anything can happen.

Carlton is not a current member of the Wildcats

I had not heard of Carlton not being a member of the Wildcats. This will hurt the Cats, he was a big factor in the Region last year.

There is rumors of carlton not playing next year, but i believe he will have a change in heart come time for the season.

HC has a good solid squad coming back.

I still look for M'boro to win the Class "A" region in the 13th. I have said it once before they are loaded with talent for a Class "A" mountain school.

My mistake he was not on the team towards the middle of last year and he was returned towards the end of the year.

My apologies!! I had heard rumors of his but after further discussion I am sure that this is not true and he will be playing next year. Sorry.

Beechwood and St. Henry should be good this year. Don't count out Ludlow who brings back most of their group from this year. NCC should be good as well.

I look for St. Herny to win this because of experience (Speed, Zumdick, Szwikert). They don't have height but they have 3 very good sophmores to be juniors on there way in Jake Hils, Ryan Anderson, and Ben Bessler.

 

Don't ever count out NCC with Pangallo and Meyer in the backcourt. Very good juniors next year.

NCC returns Connor too, and St. Henry returns a lot, but those two are on the opposite side, Beechwood or Newport walk to the finals after there first round match up. Ludlow lost most contributors and that team wasn't very good to begin with anyways.
