Every interview I have ever heard with Flair, he has thrown the name Harley Race in there. I'm going to say Race.

The first GREAT wrestling match I remember watching was Ric Flair V Ricky Steamboat.

Therefore I voted for him! In my mind that's who it is.

I'm sure he probably had bigger rivals, but to me when I think of rivalries andgreat matches I think Flair Steamboat.

My oh my, how wrestling has changed...

When I think of Ric Flair rivals, it is an incredible debate. I guess what made Ric Flair the greatest was that he made everyone he wrestled great. You can go back to his greatest days in the 80's and he made Ronnie Garvin, Sam Houston, and the Mulkey brothers all World Title contenders. In the 90's he carried Hulk Hogan and actually made Hogan look like a wrestler. In the 00's, he has helped Orton, Batista and Cena become stars.

Besides Barry Windham, each wrestler was a star in their own right. But IMO, none would have been the star they were without Space Mountain. Dusty's rivalrie is probably more linked to the 4-horseman, but it all started with he and Ric.

Thanks Wrestling fans for chiming in.

The Nature Boy had many great matches with Blackjack Mulligan and Chief Wahoo McDaniel. He credits McDaniel for teaching him the ropes of the wrestling business when he first started out.

He had incredible matches with Greg Valentine for the US belt. Roddy Piper, Magnum TA, Nikita Koloff in the NWA. Randy Savage in the WWF and Carlos Colon in WWC. I guess that is why is is so great, who didn't he have great matches with?

I remember when I was in the service, and him and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine had this big feud going on at the time. I walked in a hotel lounge to use the restroom and there they were having drinks together.

I'm with you 98...before I even opened the thread to see the options, the first name that popped in my head was Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.

I remember Flair and Rhodes going 60 minutes in a cage in Kansas City. Both were bloodied from head to toe. These 2 had more great matches than anyone else I can recall. Flair had a good thing going with Race, and a name left off here, Kerry Von Erick, but when I think of great rivalries in wrestling, the first 2 names that pop into my head are Flair and Rhodes.

Magnum TA

I'm not a wrestling fan, but how about a thread on the best wrestling rivalry ever?

When I was a kid I loved Sting...he was my boy....Sting and Lex Luger
