What starters are returning and what positions are up for grabs?

We have numerous positions up for grabs, as we usually do....one thing that is secured for us, is a LB'er spot, and the RB...while they may not be the best we've ever had, they are top notch....

RB - Tim "Superman" Phillips

 

Both will leave an impression upon this program that will be spoken about for years to come.

What are the other 6A teams returning?

Dunbar returns 6 starters on offense. One Lineman plus five skilled positions. On Defense, they return 3 Defensive lineman and all four members of their secondary for seven returning starters.

Phillips scares me (X fan) to death every time he gets the ball. A lot like Brohm did when he stepped back to pass. Only one more year of that...:cry:

Fern Creek will have, Hynes, Welch, McNeal & Smith all returning on offense. I dont know who else is back but those four can score a bunch of points!

Trinity returns players who started in some or all of the games last year at the following positions: RB, WR, WR, TE, C, OG, OG, DG, DT, DT, LB, DE, DE, DB, DB.

Are you saying that Whiting and Phillips are not the best ever to play in their position at Trinity?

My 2c is that they are certainly among the very best who previously played their positions. Too early to make such a bold prediction. But they are in some pretty heady company. They still have a season to go. With the Tradition comes a long line of prior greats. Best of luck to both on the upcoming season. They are great players - but mroe importantly they are fine young men.

Tim Phillips yes. Jordan Whiting no, but one of the top 10 Trinity LB's.

What other Trinity linebacker has ever received a scholarship from a perenniel top 5 school like Ohio State?

Tommy Rittle, class of 1969, received a scholarship to Georgia Tech. He was recruited by Jerry Glanville, I believe. Injuries cut his career short. I acknowledge that they are not a "perennial top 5 school."
