Article on Euton Transfer

Featured Replies

If he would have transfered to Lex. Christian nothing would have been said but moving to Georgetown and driving to Lexington to work makes people think it was purely a basketball move.

Fastbreak, you should become a Defense Attorney. :thumb:

All I can say about this matter is that the Eutons cannot hold the KHSAA hostage and Daddy Euton should be very careful how he speaks to the newspaper. While I will agree that his move is legit, the way Daddy Euton talks about Jackson in the newspaper is what has raised some eyebrows.

Nothing wrong within the legal realms of bettering your child but to take other kids with you to another program is going to make the KHSAA take a long look into this matter. I also heard that the Barbour kid was transferring as well, any truth to this?

If all my cases would be as clear cut as this one should be I'd be very successful. :thumb:

I don't know anything about a Barbour kid.

You are right. Basketball transfer- ineligible to participate. However, I am sure that will not be the ruling.

What about a Barber kid?

What about a Barber kid?

Sounds like someone is trying to start a problem.

No problem here, just curious about him and Jackson leaving. If i wanted to

start a problem I would PM you personally! :thumb:

There have been over 80 posts now and I ask about a kid and you single me out. Nice! Real Nice! They are right about...

I'd say the RH fans are starting to get a little sensitive about everyone leaving!! They were very supportive of DE . . . not much has been said about CJ but . . . if the rumor you've heard is accurate then it sounds like a mass exodus!!!

I used to drive to Georgetown for work all the time. It's not that bad.

Some people like the suburban feel of Scott Co. as opposed to the urban living of Lexington. As long as I stay around here I would have to guess that when I have kids I will move out to SC to raise them and have them go to school there as opposed to the city life in Lexington unless I need to stay in Lexington and live out around the Dunbar area.

Yeah I agree it's not a bad drive and I would rather live in Scott Co. than Lexington myself but my point was if he was trasferring to a smaller school that was not a basketball powerhouse it wouldn't be a concern, but it being Scott County it raises everyones eyebrows.

Why not look for the best situation for your son. Basketball is a huge part of the Eutons lives. I guess no one would question the move if he were enrolling at Sayre or one of the other small schools in the Lexington area.

Hicks is probably one of the top 3 coaches in the state, why not take your son their to play. Good Luck to Dakota and the whole family.

I was referring to Rick Jones and Scott Hundley ... if Euton pulls it off, he would give Scott their third Mr. Basketball who started his varsity career at another school.

That would be quite the trifecta ...

So are you accusing Scott County of wrong doing? Are you jealous of the program? Is it wrong for a Mr. Basketball-calibur player to transfer to a school with a better bball team, but okay for this to happen at smaller schools like Hazard with players not hardly as good?

What is your point?

My guess is we will never really know...

I would love to see this whole team stay together not just for the basketball but for the friendship that these boys have made over the years, but if a kid or kids have to leave for personal reasons then I understand and wished them the best of luck.

Everyone remembers the Rose Hill implosion after the departure of Mayo and Walker. Michael Taylor and Jamal Williams went back to Huntington, Blair and VanHoose to Russell, Matt Thomas to Ashland, and Barker landed at Fairview, etc. The loss of Euton (and Jackson, if that happens) will obviously be a blow to the program, but will this be another meltdown?

Perhaps some members close to the program can shed some light on this...

I'm not looking for rumors.. just the perspective of someone who may know.
