March 15, 200818 yr Looks like the Cats's fans today will be players families, politicians, and wealthy alumni. They will fill all that 12K? They aren't letting any fans in?
March 15, 200818 yr Apparently, each school was given 500 of these passes originally. So possibly, there could be 500 UK fans at the game. I'm hearing that there are about 400 people in the gym now, and 300 of them are UK fans. Mostly wealthy alumni, families, close friends to the UK President. Richie Farmer is there though, so, IMO, that's all that matters! :thumb:
March 15, 200818 yr They will fill all that 12K? They aren't letting any fans in? Just people with passes.
March 15, 200818 yr They will fill all that 12K? They aren't letting any fans in? Only 9 thousand can fit in the stadium.
March 15, 200818 yr They will fill all that 12K? They aren't letting any fans in? No they aren't going to fill anything, but there are already 300 of them in the facility waiting for the game.
March 15, 200818 yr I'm sure the tournament committee didn't sit around and think "We need a backup plan in case a tornado lands on our building during a game." Nor do I blame them for not thinking that. I said, what if there is a power outage, a very conceivable occurance. Never said they should be prepared for a gazillion to 1 shot of a tornado. Just need something in place, in planning, for such things as a venue being shut down for ANY reason, (Tornado, POWER OUTAGE, rat infestation, mild alien invasion, resurrection day zombies, etc.) SEC did what it could with what was in place, but, still, poor planning as far as trying to forsee ANY TYPE of problem/venue change reaction. If you were ever in the military or boy scouts, you know you have to plan and prepare and have a Plan B in place. Dropped Ball by the Conference. Also, it should be safe to say that these folks that plan are experienced and professionals at decision making. They know risks and assesments when planning anything. They are saying on the radio that this WILL be addressed after the tournament by the league officials as far as having plans in place for continuation of future tourneys if something such as the above examples occur.
March 15, 200818 yr Will this game be televised? To recap what Mitch Barnhart said on the UK pregame show: He and his son were sitting on press row when a bolt or something fell and missed his son by about a foot The NCAA pretty much told the SEC that since you already have a process in place for determining the automatic qualifier, you must play the tournament by 6pm Sunday or lose the automatic qualifier Georgia Tech (an original SEC member) has gone out of their way to accomodate the SEC and have even personalized their court some. Raycom will carry today's games on TV There was some surprise that the Alabama/Miss St game was allowed to continue after the storm rolled through And maybe the best piece of persepctive -- Barnhart said 'how fortunate was it that Alabama hit the shot and sent the game to overtime'? If the game ends in regulation, you have thousands of fans wandering the streets when the tornado rolled through Atlanta. :thumb:
March 15, 200818 yr Its on Raycom as far as I can tell. The Cats are -4 1/2 point favorites by the way.
March 15, 200818 yr This is going to be really tough on players like Joe and Ramel who really never leave the court. Thats hard enough for one game but 2 in the same day. That sucks.
