This guy coached at Pike County Central this past season and was runner up in the 15th Region this past season. I have heard the guys name dropped as a possible canidate but nothing official on a naming in Mason County.

Stephen Butcher(Pike Central) will be named as the Mason Co girls coach tomorrow.

Interesting hire to say the least? Anyone hear who the final applicants were!

Pretty interesting that the coach with the best record in the 15th region this year would want to come go to Mason County where, I think I would be safe in saying, it will be a rebuilding year. Did he lose a lot of players at Pike Co. this year?

If a coach is coming to the 10th from the mountain schools, he won't be bringing all of those threads about who is the best watergirl or the best ballboy or the best #8 player on the bench, will he?????

If this is true, trust me when I say this...Pike County Central's loss is Mason County's gain: not only in an awesome coach, but a wonderful wife and family who will put their heart and soul into the program.

Pike Co is not a good place right now if you are not in the click of the current Super.

I think its just more the opposite imo, I think Pike County Central has a lot coming back. Could someone from that area shed some light on this. I am thinking they were a young ball club. This kind of caught me by surprise as I thought Pike County Central had a lot coming back.

Yes, Butcher had a great thing going. The loss of Kayla Lowe, who is signing D-1 with Murray State, is a great loss but he coaches his players TEAM basketball, not just an offense built on one player. Over the next two years, the Lady Hawks have the talent to make it back to the regional finals again.
