I talked to a good friend of mine and he knows a little bit about girl's basketball around the area and he said Orem was in the mix. I think she wants it. And I would be surprised if a few players follow...

Are you saying you'd be suprised or wouldn't be suprised???

I would be very suprised if Fleming Co. players followed her to Mason.

I think Butler would get consideration, he knows the girls and the program.

What about Whitney Lee from Montgomery Co.? Little sister Makenzie has one more year with the Lady Indians, but Whitney will be a great head coach - and Robinson isn't going anywhere soon.

Whitney Lee would be excellent but does she hold a teaching degree. Mason Co likes for head coaching positions to be filled by teaching degree candidates.

I think she teaches PE at one of the elementary schools.

I think Orem is going to get the job. I believe that they need to hire from outside the school system. Just my opinion. But, I think Jason Butler wouldn't be a bad hire if they decided to stay within the school.

I can't believe Mason County would even consider hiring Kristy Orem. What has she done? besides look pretty and stomp her 4" heel on the sideline. I would think they could get a big name coach in there.

I'd like to see Jerry Ormes back. I believe he still lives in the Maysville area.

I couldn't agree more. I'm very close to Mr. Ormes and he is a class act, and is very passionate about the game of basketball.

:laugh::laugh::lol::lol::laugh::laugh: I don't know if I would want her at Mason Co., but I have heard the name mentioned quite a few times.

Yeah same here...I don't think she'd be the best fit at Mason County, but who knows? I still say go with someone who's already in the program and knows the girls.

Anyone know when they're going to decide?

Kristy Orem would be a very interesting choice and I think she would do an OUTSTANDING job if she was to be hired! If they hire from outside the system then I think she would be the perfect choice. Would love to see her back in the 10th region!

If Ray Kues was interested and applied for the position then the job would have to be his, hands down--he is that good. I would love to see what he could do w/the resources at a big school like Mason County. I would be very surprised to see Kues interested in this at this stage of his career. He seems very content and happy at Silver Grove.:p

If they stay w/in the system I think Jason Butler would make an excellent choice and would be a very welcomed addition to the head coaching ranks of the 10th region! He has all the necessary tools to be a successful coach.

Plus, you just gotta love Coach Butler's hair cut!:thumb:

Regardless of who is ultimately hired, folks will have to be patient. It's not every year that 7,000+ points graduates!

I don't think Orem is the one for the job. I think you have to stick with someone who has ties to ROYALty. So far, I have seen three candidates on this post who fit this bill.

I, myself, don't think any players would follow her.

He might be a good choice, he lives in Maysville and knows a lot of people at MC.
