That would be a GREAT, GREAT hire and put a little scare in everyone else in the 10th region.

Put the talent of the past years in Coach Brooks' hands and I don't think Montgomery County is a 4-time repeat regional champion.

Coach Buser was a VERY good coach and she almost had each of those games. She will be missed in Mason Co Lady Royals Basketball. :thumb:

You get the coaches in the 10th region in private where they ain't going to be quoted and they would tell you that they were very happy that Coach Buser was in charge of the talent at Mason County these past few years.

In addition, her ethical treatment of leads and deciding to run up the scores is legendary in the 10th region.

I bet if you went back and looked at votes for coach of the year honors, you could count on one hand the number of votes she received over the past 4 years that DID NOT come out of Mason County.

Very good post. Agree with everything you stated above!

And in the bold, because of this, since Mason County will be somewhat down next year, I wouldn't be surprised if teams did the same to them next year to let them see how it feels.

This is crazy. :sleep::irked:

In what way? Buser had the 2 top scorers in Mason County girls history, the leading scorer in Mason County history (boys or girls), and another top 5 scorer in Mason County history and still could not get it done.

AND, anyone who thinks that she didn't try to run up the score on teams, then they are the ones who are indeed crazy.

Heard through the grapevine at boys state tournament that Terrance Brooks of Paris was told the job was his if he wanted it. Just a little more insight to add to the stirring of the pot.

If this is the case and indeed Coach Brooks is interested in the Mason Co job, and he chooses to go to Maysville, then it will be a big gain for the Lady Royals program because I have seen what he has done with the Ladyhounds program considering the talent pool is alot smaller to choose from as opposed to that of Mason County. If he leaves Paris it will really set the program back because what he accomplished was nothing short of amazing considering the schedule they played year in and year out.

PS: "Smooooove" doesn't sound as good coming from Maysville as it did here in Paris.

It could not be stated any clearer than that. :fight:

The 10th region is definitely abuzz with this job as well as the Bracken county job open. Five full pages of posts between the two and no end in sight. One sure way to keep talking basketball for at least another month !

Stephen Butcher will be the new coach at Mason Co.
