Mason County is not an NBA team, they can be beat. And Elliott was not near as strong as they are now when they lost to a very strong Rowan twice by 27 then beat them in the Regional. And lets just see how strong Mason is next year when they play the boys from Elliott at Sandy Hook.

 

Okay, so why are we talking about next year? That's going to be a completely different team, and they are losing their 2 best players, and a very nice player in King, as well as a good post presence in Tolle. Let's talk about this year at Rupp...not next year.

Mason isn't an NBA team but during the Mason vs Elliott game a few months ago they might as well been. Elliott wasn't strong during the first game they played. I would have whether stayed home and watched Mama's Family. Develop a schedule and play strong teams and you can compete. Each game on your schedule that was so called a big game you LOST and not by a few. Mason could have won the 16th region with our JV kids thats just how weak it is. Lets not talk about next year yet because you never know what will happen but I do understand that living in an area where talent comes once in 40 years you would take full advantage of it. Wow. There are people on here that have argued that Ferguson isn't even the best player on his own team. If he started for Mason County (that, to me, is an if), he'd be their fourth or fifth option. I know everyone's entitled to their opinion, but ... just wow.

Ferguson in my opinion is close to being on the same level as Miller, If I do recall he made 28 points during the last game with Miller guarding him. That's not too shabby if you ask me!!!!

Maybe you can talk those to into a 1 on 1 game sometimes just to see who wins. Maybe one day next week sometime. :jump:

If Setty and/or Middleton were the focal point of the Mason County offense like Ferguson is for Elliott, and therefore took as many shots a game as Ferguson did, their stats would be even more close to equal.

 

Ferguson probably could edge out Ethan King for fourth, there's no way to know how much that Mason would have to rely on him to score if it weren't for the other three. They've had to do that with Middleton and/or Setty in the past if Miller was off on a given night or in foul trouble.

 

I would pick a 6-7 Setty AND a 6-3 1/2 Middleton over Ferguson every day of the week and twice on Sundays (especially if the region final is that day ). Just my opinion, no loyalty involved.

That is some of the reason these other posters come back with the comments they do & look down on the 16th Region & other EKy Regions. Ferg is a great high school player & will play at the next level if he wants but you cannot make a statement like this & expect any respect.

I certainly agree with you, it's a shame someone makes comments like that it makes all of us look stupid. I'm just saying Ferg is as good as Setty and Middleton but no way can be compared to Miller. I am a fan of both teams, I played in the 16th region and I now work in Mason Co. so I am not biased in any way and when I went to the first game I set on the Elliott side because I didn't think it would be as crowded (but I was Wrong), but I didn't root for either team I just wanted to see a good game.

My OPINION is not the same as yours & I do not have to back it up with anything as your stats do it for me. Ferguson leads both Setty & Middleton in 2 of the 3 catagories you listed! The other he is only 2 tenths of a % point behind them. All 3 are good high school players, (obviously not in the same catagory as Miller) will play at the next level & best wishes to all three.
