They run a motion offense with all players flashing to the wing looking for the three. Ferg is a good post player, but the only time he goes to the post is when he has a small guard or someone close to his size on him. One thing I can assure you of, you won't see Ferg posting Miller up.

 

Does Mason County even have a player shorter than Ferguson on their starting lineup? Ferguson at 6-0 is giving 2 or 3 inches alone to Mason's PG Middleton.

How many upsets and even huge upsets have there been in the history of basketball over the last 80 years. More than a few. Nothing is a done deal except death and taxes. PG-Middleton 6-3 1/2

SG-Downing, 6-2

SF-King, 6-3

PF-Setty, 6-7

C (technically, though they "start" three forwards)-Miller, 6-7

Elliott County can win if, they have a hot shooting night (and yes that is possible) , if they stay out of foul trouble (just might be possible) and if Miller gets into foul trouble (you just never know!). A lot of ifs I know. But, hey this is the sweet sixteen and cinderella does exist. Good luck to the Elliott County boys and I will be there to cheer you on.

Freshman or not, someone is going to have to step up and stop him for them to win. And IMO, Timmy Knipp is not able to stop Darius Miller, inside or out. But I think it is inside where Darius has the advantage. Honestly, Darius has an advantage on just about anyone anywhere on the floor.

 

Well, thats not really what I was getting at. But, since you responded, I would take T. Knipp over Miller in a freshman year match-up, anytime. My thoughts on the game. I don't see Middleton having another career night, I see nerves getting to Setty............I see Elliott dropping long balls. I see a much closer than expected Mason win... If the refs don't get caught up in Billy G. fever, and Miller is off I could easily see EC winning this game.

Yes, they will, never said the better team would lose! I just think it's much closer than the last meeting.

The better team on any given night always wins! I, also think that the best team probably will be Mason County. But you must remember why the Elliott County boys will show up to play the game. They think that they can win!:confused:

I can't see Mason County looking over ANYONE especially at tournament time. I'll use the Montgomery and Clark Co. games as an example. They had beat both teams in regular season and you could tell even during warm-ups that they were fired up and ready to play ball. I don't see nerves as a problem for Setty. They have played too rough a schedule this year and Rupp is Darius's new home.

 

How do you get Billy G. fever? I think I may have it. How do you get rid of it? Win an SEC championship maybe? GO CATS!!
