South by a lot more than anyone thinks. South has been to state 4 times in a row these boys know what it's like playing in front of the big crowds and will have no problem with that.

 

That is true, but the SL kids on this team didn't really play a great deal in the previous trips to Rupp. So I don't think that it will be too big of a factor.

You must have forgotten about 2006. But after all we were "killed" by Madison Central. Very forgettable.

The scores are way to high. The Hazard will beat SL 49-40. Things get real tight in Rupp and scores go down.

I'm a Hazard fan and am thankful that South beat Corbin. I think Corbin would have gave Hazard a much tougher game. Hazard by 9 over South.

It appears this will be a real barn burner. Hazard (30-4) and South Laurel (27-7) have only played two common opponents--Clay County and Breathitt County, and both Haz and SL won these games. There is no doubt that SL has a fine team, but Hazard is also road tested. I believe the fact Coach Whitaker and his son, Josh, are both very familiar with this team, will be in our favor. Also, Hazard's defense has improved as the season has gone along and our bench is very deep (at least 10 deep without losing much quality). For these reason, I have to give Hazard the edge by 5 points!

Hazard hit the IMO basketball jackpot this year, first getting one of the all-time top coaches in the 14th and state to move across town, then as an assistant one of the best for the last 10 years in the 13th, not to mention a top-notch guard in his son, as well as the other kid from Bell all of this to go along with several other good players. Wow! Should be a great game vs.South Laurel.

Everyone was picking Corbin like this, too. I bet South is loving this.
