Im rooting for SL but imo Hazard has to much size for them. I think Hazard is going to the final 4.

I also have not seen Hazard play. Only know that the sophomore guard Josh Whitaker gets rave reviews. Who are the bigs you refer to and how tall are they?? Doesn't SL have a big man inside in Matt St. John who is 6'7" or

6'8"?? I still remember the post in the earlier Corbin game where SL 5"10" sophomore guard Matt Watkins dunked over somebody from Corbin. He must also be a very talented player who many said was one of the best shooters in the 13th region. Hazard and SL fans they us a little about these teams!!

I am not sure why you guys think Hazard will be so great. Their tourny MVP was the Whitaker kid from Bell last year, no offense but Corbin beat that team last year. If he is their best player I can't see South not winning this game. I dont know what else South has to do for people to take them for real. These guys are very well coached, they play together , and dont make many mistakes. What is so great about Hazard, someone please iniform me.

Hazard was "decent" last year when south played them at Hazard and on senior night I can't remember how many they lost but I'm pretty sure the best kid on the team graduated. Plus Whitaker is good but he also has been around this South bunch a lot Bortnem will be on him like white on rice .

They made it to the finals of the All "A" Classic State Tournament, where they took University Heights Academy to the wire. UHA has the #8 player in the nation, and a McDonalds All-American Scotty Hopson on their team. UHA also has a pretty good point guard in Tyshawn Edmonson, potentially an All-State performer.

 

I think that is pretty impressive.

 

I still think this could possibly be the best game of the first round.

Hazard is very good and I think they will win this game, but SL will make it interesting. I dont think Hazard will be effected psychologically by South like most of the teams in the 13th region are and they have a better cast of players IMO and pretty good coaching staff as well. The winner of this game actually has a very legitimate shot at a final four appearance on Saturday.

South Laurel 62-54.

Should be a good game but I like Hazard in a close one.

You cant go wrong with Wright, S. Laurel by 5.

Im not too sure about this but if i know the South coaching staff like I think I do coach Wright has people getting tapes for the Hazard scouting report all over the state. Like it's been stated before South laurel has a powerhouse coaching staff that will make sure it knows everything Hazard is going to do before they do it.

They don't have no huge player but good overall size. There big players are also very athletic and rebound very well. With Whitaker running the point they don't turn the ball over much and always get a good shot. Whitaker and Jones have greatly improved since last year. Anyone on the team can score and there very unselfish. They have only two instate loses and that was to JBS in the WYMT championship game, and UHA in the All A championship game. The other two loses was to NV teams in a Las Vegas. So overall there 30-4. I don't like them but there good.

I going with South by 8 due to making free throws down the stretch.
