A look at Kentucky's losses

Featured Replies

When real numbers come out and good points come out some people dissappear. The SEC is just not as good a league this year. They should have won those two games. It says something when you are trying to defend those losses. I am thinking the SEC might only get 4 in. No more than 5. IMO

You have to play your conference teams. You can't help how good or bad, inexperienced or experienced they are.

Sounds like a mid major argument.

Nope, not a mid-major argument. Kentucky has no control over the other 11 SEC teams. You play all of them and the SEC office determines where and what time. As for Non-Conference schedule, Kentucky always plays a good one every year.

It seems to me that I heard Jay Bilas say that if you play in a weak conference then it is your job to go out and play the toughest non-conference you can to prove your worth. If you play in a tough conference then your non-con schedule it not as overtly important to the selection.

Syracuse last year says otherwise...

Good point. :thumb:

The only retort I would have would be that I don't think Syracuse record in the Big East was that great last year and if you don't do a great job in your conference on top of a poor schedule your goose may be cooked.

I don't know why people argue back and forth about this...the SEC is weak. At least compared to what it normally is...at the same time, Kentucky improved and the result was a team that went 12-4 in the conference and was very, very close to winning the conference (I think that may be the most amazing thing to me...a lucky bounce or two @ UT and we'd have won the conference)...

KY's non conference RPI was 207, so there goes that argument.

And their strength of schedule was 12, but nice try, though.:thumb:

That is right. SOS was 12. Oh, BTW, Indiana was part of the non-conference. Yes, the Hoosiers won, but that was before the big change.

We're talking about OOC, and their Out of conference SOS of 91, but who's counting...

You mean, before the schedule got easier, :thumb:

98,

Two questions:

1) Do you think Kentucky will get in the NCAA tourney?

2) If they do get in, will you think they should not have?

I'm confused. The SEC isn't good this year but UK's conference schedule brings their SOS from a 91 to 12.

Kentucky's list of losses is pretty strong...unfortunately, they're all still losses.
