A look at Kentucky's losses

Featured Replies

I think UK is in too. But I agree, their "resurgence" is a bit misleading.

They have no road wins against top 140 RPI. They are 5-9 against top 100. The best OOC win was against Liberty.

On the other hand, they were undefeated at home in the SEC. Beat two top 10 RPI teams at home. And have finished the season really strong.

Either they turned it around overnight, or the SEC is really bad. You can draw your own conclusion. The debate on being in the tourney is over though. 12-4 in a BCS conference will assure you a bid, not to mention the word Kentucky written across someones chest. You think that doesn't make the NCAA $$$. UK travels better than anyone, well anyone except for Lincoln County fans. LOL

Dead on, except forthe LC part, I wouldn't know about that!

Im never way off base.

IN - UK, Tenn., Vandy, Miss. St., they will get one more in, and it will be b/w Ark, and Ole Miss.

You just quoted above that Arkansas was a solid win but won't get into the tournament. By the way Ole Miss was another solid win.So that's 3 solid wins since the UT game.

According to realtimerpi.com, the SEC is the #4 conference this year in RPI. While it doesn't tell the whole story, it does say that the conference, where 16 of their total games are played, is not bad.

Average RPI of 80.

Average RPI of 80.

Average, schmaverage. What's your point?

If the numbers don't mean anything why bring up the RPI ranking?

Average RPI of the SEC teams that UK beat? 97.75 - Stout!

realtimerpi has the SEC above the Big East. Need I say more about the conference RPI ranking???

I don't understand why the average RPI has any bearing when they've already calculated the league RPI.

1. ACC

2. PAC 10

3. Big 12

4. SEC

5. Big East

6. Big 10

You telling me that the average is 80 has about as much bearing as you telling me that the SOS is 5. That's already been factored in and the results are what they are.

Are you saying its not a factor in the room next weekend?

There's not one team in the Big East that is top of the charts scary good/dominant. Its strong but it also has 16 teams to pick from.

It matters b/c we're not discussing whether the SEC would beat the Big East in a 40 man Battle Royal.

The Committee, when it comes to seeding, is going to look at this "amazing turnaround" () that has come in the last 6 weeks has come against a very less than stellar schedule.

It will not be. They will look at who they beat and how good those teams are. But a conference as a whole will not matter. Did UK play every team twice? No, they played most of the bad ones twice (Iknow they played UT and Vandy 2x), so the coneference RPI is usuless at that point.

...as compared to what?
