Did Coors beer taste better in the '70s or is it just me?

 

I remember having buddies bring Coors back from Colorado, iced down in coolers, and it was the best beer going! It was a real treat to have a Coors in one's hand, eh mouth... I believe it was unpasteurized then.

 

Coors today seems to taste like any other mega brew on the shelf. What changed?

 

Can't thnk of a better site than BGP to get my question answered. While your at it... what will your brew be for March Madness? :sssh:

Never liked Coors. Didn't taste good in the 70's and doesn't taste good today.

In the late 70s , Coors was way to expensive for me and the boys. Now if you want to reminisce about Red, White, and Blue.....

It's funny you mention it. Just yesterday I was with some friends and we were drinking Coors... when I started drinking (which was just two and a half years ago, so my pallette is just begining to expand for beer), Coors was my favorite beer, and pretty much the only one I bought. But since moving in with someone who's a bit more of a beer savant than myself, I've been drinking all sorts. So last night when I popped a Coors for the first time since last summer, I was a little surprised to find myself missing a good BBC Bourbon Brew or Skullsplitter.

 

So maybe it's not that Coors itself tasted better back then, but maybe you've just had several better beers since.

Probably did taste different, but might also have to do with it not being readily available then.

So it was your mind thinking, wow this is different so its better.

Never could stand the taste of Coors.

 

Newcastle, Sam Adams Boston Lagar and Miller Lite will be the March Madness beers for me.
