How do you go to get to Montgomery County and it be 110 miles? I agree the 5:00 start is tough, but they used to do that all the time at Mason County years ago.

 

According to Map Quest it is 98 miles from Alexandria to Mt. Sterling if you run through Maysville and Flemingsburg. If you started out in Highland Heights, it would be close to 110 miles.

I would have thought that taking 27 through Cynthiana and Paris and then either going through Winchester or North Middletown would have been less miles than that. I guess when you are excited about the outcome the drive doesn't seem so bad, but when the outcome is not so good, the drive is a lot longer. I can remember some 90 mile trips from the Fieldhouse back to HCHS over the years too.

I remember showing up at games in Mason and the crowd from the first round would refuse to move from the student section and lower seats. The split sessions are the best way to run the show that is fair to all IMHO.

I echo your words above. I followed the shot and it hit on the right side of the rim and fell off! Unbelievable game to deliver, what the 10th region tournament is all about. Hats off to Clark County, they pick up their 43rd win in the tournament all time. I really believe it came down to the experience factor late in this ball game. Clark County kept their poise and didn't panic even after trailing most of the game and by as much as nine. There were 4 ties and 4 lead changes, great game!
