On a side note, not sure how many Bondick had but Arrez frustrated him the whole night. I thought Shover handled the pressure much better than him.

It sure seems like the semifinal matchup involving the Birds will be a great game and then the survivor has to take on another great opponent to win it (assuming no upsets). With McGraw's back situation, I just don't see them beating Cov Cath and Holmes in successive games in whatever order they would face them. Personally, I would love to see a third Holmes-CC battle for the championship.

Not necessarily. Highlands and Holmes could on the same side of the bracket just as easily as CovCath and Highlands.

 

A nice loss for CovCath if they can avoid the side of the bracket that Highlands is on. Can't wait to see how the draw goes. Undoubtedly the biggest key to this whole thing is who can avoid who of the top 3.

Congrats to both teams. Hopefully, we will see them in the regional final. That should be another classic on a neutral floor.

Holmes will most likely draw Villa or Bellevue as they have a 2 out of 3 shot to do so. I'd be surprised to see them play the loser of Conner/St Henry.

I'd say the Arrez/Bondick battle was pretty even. I saw Bondick getting to the rim quite often. I also saw Arrez force him into some TOs.

I'd say it was even to an extent. Defensively Bondick couldn't stop Arrez and anytime he touched the ball Listerman was yelling for help. (I was standing right next to the CCH bench on the baseline.) Bondick did OK, but as you said he committed tournovers which Arrez didn't.

Henderson led the Bulldogs with 30 points. Ricardo Johnson had 11 points and nine rebounds. Terrence Clark chipped in with 12 points. Mitch Shover led CovCath with 20 points.

30 points for Henderson. In a big game like tonight, I don't see anyone stopping him.

A few things:

1) CCH will play with anyone if they shoot like that. (Don't leave Shover open)

2) Arrez can make free throws

3) The Johnson bros are going to be scary good.

4) Mike Listerman even cries when they call a foul against the other team.

If you want to know why some public schools have a problem with CCH, it could very well have to with the disappointing age-old cheer "we're going to college."

 

Boys, I'm sure that humility is part of the Catholic teachings.

I thought CCH did a great job of penetrating but unlike against other teams, you've got some boys waiting to swat your shots. I bet Holmes had 8 to 10 blocked shots.
