Are you kidding me? You can lift all you want, you cant counter the vertical leaping ability that Holmes has. Cut em some slack.

First of all, I asked a simple question.

Secondly, you can't possibly be arguing that strenth does not help a player seal off a more athletic player........can you????

What AAU program does Ricardo Johnson play for???

Ricardo Johnson Kentucky Players

Who knows if it is accurate, or who else he plays with.

From looking around a bit I think that he plays with Arkansas Brewer, the kid for Newport a year or two ago. Where is he anyways?

Weight room work has nothing to do with keeping Holmes off the boards. Unfortunately, CCH can get into bad habits against almost every other team and simply turn and go get the ball. You can't do that against Holmes. If I were Coach L, the main thing I'd be practicing would be teaching the players to first find their man and then GO TO their man, put the rear end on their man, and then go get the ball. I saw hardly any true blockouts last night and CCH paid for it. If you don't block out properly against Holmes, you lose because they score the majority of their points on offensive rebounds.

Weight room work can have EVERYTHING to do with keeping a better athlete off the boards.

If an appreciably stronger athlete gets into a more athletic player, he or she for that matter, will be able to create some space to rebound the basketball. Of course I am talking about strong basketball players- not just muscle-bound kids that can't hoop.

Key word "IF" they get in to a more athletic player. Holmes might be athletic but they are also a fairly strong team as well. The way they attack the rim shows it.

Arrez Henderson would be a solid SS or OLB in football. Terrence Clark I know for a fact benches over 250. Add their jumping ability and you have a ton of mismatches when it comes to other teams trying to outrebound them.

Also you can be strong but if a more athletic player is in front of you and lower than you, they are going to get the rebound everytime.
