Do you think it was a lack of respect since Nic hadn't hit any shots in the 1st half? I really hate this district setup:mad:

I really have mixed feelings on the district setup. I mean, it would be nice to seed so the best two teams make it to the region and it's more competitive. On the other hand, it's everyone's goal to win the region. If NCC can't beat HHS, they aren't going to win the region, period. Of course everyone's opinion is different, based on how it affects you.

Is it just me or does Coach Brannen look like Farmer Fran in the Waterboy?

:laugh::lol::lol::lol:

Another coffee cleanup for me...

Lipscomb pulling up and not making contact with Hurtt. Looked like he was pretty close to full speed to me...

Lipscomb couldn't knock over Hurtt on his best day, it was a flop and a terrible call.

See but it's the any given night thing that makes it possible. NCC beat Holmes once they can play wth anyone given the right circumstances. District should be seeded.

Didn't CovCath beat Holmes in the District final only to lose to them in the Regional last year?

I should've stated that when it comes down to single elimination, if NCC can't beat HHS they won't win the region. Whether that's first round of district or regional finals...

Did you really think the officiating was THAT bad? Sure there were calls that could've been made but if you call everything in an HHS/NCC game, we'd still be there. There was some contact that Pangallo created that could've been called, there was some contact that Simpson created that could've been called. And, if the officials cost NCC this game, they also must've cost UK the game against Vandy...

On a side note, it was funny looking at NCC's bench to see 6 coaches and 6 players...

You're biased:D

This is at Highlands, correct?

Yes.....

But if seeded they don't have to beat Highlands until the regional finals. Neutral floor, anything can happen.

Genius.

If NCC converts their second/third/fourth chances in the first quarter, they possibly have an 8 pt lead and it's a different ballgame. Both teams start out ice cold. Putting the little Pangallo on McGraw?? Nada! Greg is the POY but won't get it due to a bias toward his injury/downtime...a shame, he deserves it! Back to the game. Nic Simpson being back was nice to see...especially in the second half when he decided to turn up his defensive intensity. Ben Watson came off the bench and did a good job changing NCC's lob strategy. Zach Hurtt played a wonderfully selfless game...defense and assists! Eaton was the unsung warrior...his game doesn't show up in the scorebook but it's the real glue to this team! But my difference maker to this game goes to...the HHS bleacher creatures!! Student body showed up strong! White out theme looked cool! I challenge them to show up for the Newport games (yes, games ! They stuck around for a great girl's contest, too!!) Great season NCC! Go Birds!!

I've seen all the best players in the 9th Region and Greg McGraw is the best. No question.

And if they lose, they still won't win the region which should be the goal...

Unfortunately no. I think he (the defender) just didn't know better and that's the bad part.

I think the lad was just in fear of being beat to the rim...he was biting on those foot fakes pretty hard!
