Cinderella shows up every now and then -draw or seed, but I like the draw !

I am from a small school and used to really like the draw, but I am starting to want the seed more. I am from the 14th and now most of better teams are small schools so the seed wouldn't hurt as much. I do think though that whatever is decided all districts should do it. Either seed or draw.

 

Small schools tend to favor the draw because it allows them to play their season longer if they get a good draw. But big schools prefer the seed because they get rewarded for having a good season.

Also, what about making the sweet 16 the sweet 24, 32 etc. and having several at large teams with some way to get in? We're talking about kid's memorable experiences here, right? Seems a shame that kids playing in the 2nd, 3rd team or lower teams in the tougher regions may never have a chance to play in Rupp when their teams are unquestionably better than the teams that will win a weak region.

When you are in District Oldham Co, you don't get a say...you automatically seed.

This is easy ... seed ... If the other teams that want to draw to see if they can get lucky and avoid the better teams, then somethings wrong.

I think seeding is best but I've also been involved in the blind draw, and I never had a complaint. It's easy to seed the districts but isn't it strange to seed the first of the three post season steps but not the others?

It seems like the seed is the best way to go. With the advent of the All A Tournament, the smaller schools already have a "state championship" to play for.

Which actually could bring up the discussion about a class system. Don't get me wrong, I love the Sweet 16.

There is nothing wrong with a draw, but I am so worn out hearing the talk about how Dayton and Bellevue have it so easy and NC and Highlands got screwed I almost wish they did seed. Anything can happen if you have a team that isn't scared and isn't beaten by the name on the jersey...

I'd like them to alternate, draw on even years and seed on odd years, but if I have to pick one then I'll pick the draw.

 

This could be the worst solution to this problem, it would just cause a lot of confusion.

I agree 100%. One of the two worst teams in the 16th region will make the region because 1&2 in the 63rd district drew each other.

I prefer to seed, but more importantly, I think every district should be the same....either seed every district in the state or every district have a blind draw.
