This thread has been quite for a while, but has anybody heard of any applicants? Earlier, Bruce Jones was mentioned are there anybody else?

From other posts I don't think there is a job out there he has not applied for.

The fact that Coach U has applied is hilarious.................lol.

First, why would Coach U apply after being run off. Second, 5-6 years there and never a winning season!

I agree with you. The talent was there on the field for Owen Co. to be extremely competitve with the schedule they were playing. No way should this team that I saw play have ended up with a 1-10 record.....not with the schedule they had. It's honestly sad that a coach will not help the kids on his team get to the next level if it is indeed true that he will not do something as simple as replying to an email or making a phone call. One thing I am curious about though is the fact that your son has 4 different colleges interested in him as a prospective football play. If this is the case seems to me sometime during the year or years some coach helped develope him into the player that he has become. Am I wrong in making this assumption or was your son just that much better than the rest of the competition that he faced that he did not need any coaching?

His first year on Defense at Corner. Coach Blackburn taught him everything.Whoever gets the Head Coaching job would be wise to hire him back as the Defensive Coordinater.

I have been told that there are several, but they wouldn't give me any names.

If Owen wants a successful program then I suggest that everyone support whomever they choose to hire, regardless of their feelings on the candidate. Support leads to success, not the other way around.

 

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I don't know. How many high schools are in Owen Co. and how close is it to schools like Williamstown, Grant, Walton, etc?

Their basketball teams have done well this year... must be talent there... if they will play football.

1 thing that the administration could do is give a timeline for hiring a coach. Without a timeline, the players and parents are left wondering when someone will be in place. Look at Madison Southern. They went for months and then finally named a previous assistant.
