February 4, 200818 yr Author Was it ever closed? Yes, they closed it just a few weeks ago. I think he got the girl to do some sort of drug and she had a bad reaction to it and maybe collapsed. He freaked out and thought she was dead. Not going for help was his biggest mistake. Taking her out to sea and dumping her body was just wrong. This is what I am thinking too. He slipped her some drug and she had a bad reaction. Why else would he panic and dispose of her body? I am guessing she didn't voluntarily take the drug(s), and he wanted to get rid of any evidence.
February 4, 200818 yr It has nothing to do with a lack of sensitivity on my part. People are abducted every day, never to be found, all across this world. Why is this girl's disappearance more important? I think you have a valid point. They are all important and it begs to ask why this girl's disappearance is more important than thousands of others. Maybe it's because her parents made it a point to make sure that no one forgot. Perhaps the media got involved for whatever reason they thought they needed to be involved. Who knows why some are important and others seem not to be. I suppose it would be hard to give all the attention this case and some others have gotten to each and every disappearance. The sad thing is, all this attention can't be given and there are thousands out there who have been totally forgotten. If it were my child I can promise you that I would dog the media to death in order to keep my child's disappearance in the news.
February 4, 200818 yr I would also want to know what happened to my child, no matter how long it took. I feel for the parents , they must be to torn to pieces. I feel so very bad for them.
February 4, 200818 yr Question, does Aruba have the same types of laws regarding taped "confessions" as America? Wouldn't this qualify (potentially) as entrapment in America? The reason I ask is that, guilty as he may be, that kind of law may help him escape forever with no punishment.

The reason I ask is that, guilty as he may be, that kind of law may help him escape forever with no punishment. I believe Aruba has the same laws as do many of the states - one person has to have knowledge that the conversation is being recorded (not all states require this). However, regardless of whether any laws were broken by the individual who taped the conversation, the recording can still be used as evidence by police as long as the "taper" was not acting on behalf of the police.
February 5, 200818 yr He is the OJ of the Dutch Kingdom. However, even with daddys connections he screwed up big time this time around. However, he will still get off the hook. Not that I would ever go there but boycott Aruba for life.
February 5, 200818 yr They are all important. The girl's certainly isn't any less important. There is, to me, an added element of interest because of where it happened and watching how their legal system (mis)handled it, as well as the fact they have known all along who is responsible for her death, but have been unable to prove it. Of course they're all important. But Jim Schue is right. Why is this case anymore important than the hundreds of other similar cases across the United States? And why was Lacy Peterson's anymore important? I'll tell you why. The media picks and chooses what crimes they think will hold the viewer's attention and then they go with it, building and building, and then "BREAKING NEWS" us till we feel like ourselves croaking. These cases are media-driven, simple as that...but they're no more important than all the others that don't get the same attention because they weren't pegged by the news networks as riviting enough. I hope the guy is jailed over this, but the media exposure is overboard imo.

Why is this girl's disappearance more important? She is white and pretty. Probably rich too. It is an unfortunate situation though, and this man deserves to go to jail.
February 5, 200818 yr What a punk, I think they should drop him off in her home town and just leave. I think justice would be served.
February 5, 200818 yr He will serve his punishment everyday of his life as he will live like OJ does, guilty by public opinion.
February 5, 200818 yr At the very least I bet he gets to meet Bubba in a back alley somewhere when he least expects it.:thumb:
February 5, 200818 yr Did you see the actual video last night on ABC. What a gutless, waste of mankind. If I were the Daddy and watched that video last night, he wouldn't be able to hide anywhere including his little kingdom.........:fire:

I think this kid is really going to regret not being honest when he should've.
February 5, 200818 yr No respect for this type he is the lowest form (if at all possible) of a low life. I hope he is sentenced to the worst of foriegn prisons where he gets just what he dished out.
