February 4, 200818 yr The coaches challenge for too many men on the field where the guy was 1 foot on the field and no flag was thrown is 100% ridiculous. That is not what the tool was intended to be used for and it's completely preposterous. This needs to be looked over.

I agree, I though that was pretty classless but then again. look who was throwing the flag wanting a review . I also agree with nkysl above in that I didn't think that could be reviewed.

February 4, 200818 yr IMO, there's nothing wrong with the rule. It's the same as if 12 guys were standing on the field and the back judge miscounted.

I think it should be used when there are too many players on the field. I don't think it should be used for any other penalties (ie false start, offsides, holding, etc.).
February 4, 200818 yr It is stupid that you can challenge that, but can not challenge a PI call or something like that.

I agree almost, because perhaps the refs physically can not see what the camera's or the guys up stairs can, but at the same time you could say the same every time a ref missed a call that perhaps he literally couldn't see... Hard call there.

They come back from break, and the paly is under review. Here is my question: Do Teams have someone who is wired up to here the broadcast, or is that not legal? Either way, I'm sure if someone wanted to relay what Buck said, they could do that.

This is exactly where people say technology has too much of an impact on the game, and where others say if an infraction occurred and you could review and call it you're taking away from the flow of the game and the way it's meant to be play. Myself personally, I think the only way a penalty like this should be called after review is if the Coaches are yelling at the ref the whole time before the play occurrs, not after the play and ESPECIALLY not after the replay.
