I just don't see a better candidate to go other than Jin either. Sawyer doesn't want to leave. Locke doesn't want to leave. Maybe Claire, but who knows. I still think it's Jin/Sun.

Remember, Desmond left the island (in the future) ran into that professor guy (the name escapes me) only to tell him the code to run the time machine. He was able to change the past by going into the future.

I only saw one question in your post, and I assumed it was rhetorical. Of course it is possible for them to do a flash forward of one, but obviously I've given my opinion enough for everyone to know that I do not think it is likely.

I don't think they changed anything, what happened, happened because it was supposed to happen. Fate has a way of "course correcting" as they seemed to be quite particular on in season 3.

Perhaps it served the point of storytelling. It occurred because it had to occur. There seems to be a deterministic bent to all of this and I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case.

If you're counting Aaron as one of the Oceanic 6, then Sun can't be number 6... Unless her baby dies, because the baby would have to be counted also...

That confused me because with Desmond being the Daniel's contact wouldnt the present Daniel remember the meeting? But they pointed out that Daniel wouldn't remember it...

 

That episode had a lot of holes in it, IMO...
